Nothing like a little three octave glissando, eleven songs into the setlist, in an open air festival.

The Army has cleared a bunk for you... It just gets better and better! Each new song, will be your new favorite and you cannot choose a bad one...there aren't any! Do use Gabriel's list as a guide, but feel free to skip around if a title jumps out at you! Storytime? Definitely!

We heard it. 🤣 We knew it was coming. That's the part we're really waiting for to see your reaction. That was a 3 octave glissando(slide) that Floor did in tandem with Marko. The studio version (recorded in the Tarja era) has only Marko's 2 octave slide. This is one of their heavier songs and one of the few Emppu really shreds on. They all play what the song needs, and aren't out there to show off. The song is about a dead romance. It's over, time to move on. They are in North America on tour in May. For more of the back and forth vocal between Floor and Marko, try Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires.

Hahaha, your face said it all! 😲 Welcome to the magical rabbit hole called Nightwish! All you needed, was just a little nudge at the entrance. This rabbit hole is deep though, lots more to discover. This is one of my fav’s for just rocking out, together with Song of Myself. They have way better creations in regard to composition or depth, but these 2 just do it for me

If you really want to be surprised/impressed by Marco’s vocals, check out either While Your Lips Are Still Red live at Wembley, or The Islander live at Tampere. He sings lead on both of those, and they are two of Nightwish’s softest, gentlest songs.

Nightwish 2022 North American Tour starts in May in Canada. Moves south to Lowell, Ma. and then NYC. They have another 6 or so other concerts throughout the US in May.

I think you are going to be hooked for within the next few songs - it really doesn't matter which you pick from: Wacken 2013 Wembley 2015 Tampere 2015 Buenos Aires 2018 They are all different - but equally mind blowing. I think you should stick to some more Wacken 2013 songs, before you move on to 2015 - in that way you will discover the evolution Nightwish is going through.. On the Wacken 2013 show, Floor was only doing old songs, not written to her - but from 2015 - that changes!! Suddenly Tuomas had no more limitations in his song writing - Floor could do anything - just far better than he had ever imagined. Tuomas even managed to challenge Floor in a couple of songs during the years - and Floor loves that - the only way to get better!! And she is right - to day Floor are doing things that theoretically is not possible - without even getting sweaty. And her range are out of scale, even if you combine it with the Richter scale 😂. Emppu - you will see that he is a phenomenal guitarist - but never overdoing or showing off - he has his own sound like all the big ones. And - You haven't even met Troy yet - the 6. member..... plays everything (except ice hockey) - and the 3. vocalist in Nightwish 😁 I would suggest one that is a little rare among reators "She is my Sin" - Wacken 2013 - including a glimpse of Emppu drinking beer while playing guitar!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZXl_ycWPg7uao9Y.html

Hi, I think one reason why you can't hear Nightwish on the radio is the lenght of their songs. They are too long for the playlists of the radiostations. Nightwish makes the songs as they feel they are good, not just to please the demands of the radiostations. But it doesn't matter, you have found the band here. It's great to see your reactions, enjoy your journey in the world of Nightwish. I'm sure you'll find lots of surprises with them. Waiting for the next one.

Great reaction to one of their harder songs. Check out Storytime, Yours is an Empty Hope at Wembley, and Weak Fantasy in this concert. Can't wait to see them at the Warfield in San Francisco on May 18th.

Hi Dean new SUBSCRIBER here from the UK and loved your reaction. I had exactly the same feeling from NIGHTWISH. Now I'm not a METAL HEAD BUT THIS BAND IS SPECIAL. Please continue with Nightwish, all good stuff. If you like guitar solos, try Liliac, specifically “Mars” live from Cumming GA. Starts with a solo and as most of their other songs has a solo in it. Young family band but definitely not the Partridge family.

Floor Jansen and Marco Heitala, the greatest combination ever. Then add in Emmpu , Jukka, Troy , Kai, new Jukka (bassist, Marcos replacement ) and of course the most incredible composer of all time, Tuomos Halopainen on keys. Toumas is a treasure. As Floor said, the man just cannot think outside of music, he is music, he oozes music 🎶😂. Try the poet and the pendulum next , it’ll blow you away 🤘

Loving your journey so far. Nightwish has so many songs and all sound so different. If you wish to stay with Wacken (2013) I'd recommend either Song of Myself or the under reacted to Bless the Child. If you do either of those (or both?) I'd recommend using the videos in this playlist that one of our army members has put together. Are you kidding, now you know why there is a NW Army, we have all heard these songs hundreds of times, & out here recruiting new members one poor musically deprived soul at a time! At least that is how I feel, cheated, we Americans weren’t brought them through our music business. They will be in the US in May, check it out to see if close-to you, & if tickets left. Think it is only about 8 locations, & Canada is in that too. My favorite, other than the last song I heard is Song of Myself, 7 Days to the Wolves is a gr8 rocker, Ever Dream, Storytime, Song of Myself, are good starters. Stay with Wacken 2013 for awhile, the energy at that concert is incredible. Good reaction.

Good reaction. I want to introduce you to a Korean singer. She is such an amazing singer and you won't stop being blown away by her every performance! She originally started out as a Gospel Singer in her church and worked her way up from there. But the reason why she is not mainstream and everywhere is since her reasoning for singing is not for fame or money but to sing for God. Michael Jackson's vocal coach once offered to make her a big star worldwide but she declined politely. She had cervical cancer when she was young, but now she's much better.
