    @@Emiology you deserve it, you have an amazing channel and I’m so excited to see your subscriber count growing. I recently had my last rat put down on February 17 after his brother died in my arms, your channel doesn’t make me sad, although I do miss my rats, it mostly makes me happy because I know that people have access to good quality information and will not mistreat their little buddies.

    I’m so grateful to have found your channel. I have owned many snakes and usually feed frozen. I had sent my partner out for pet food about a week ago while I was working and they brought me a live baby rat. I instantly decided to keep her but knew nothing about how to care for rats. She has everything she needs now (minus a few little buddies after her vet treatment is complete) and is the sweetest pet I’ve ever owned. I love learning every day how she shows me affection and what I can do to enrich her life. It has been hard to find proper information to help her but this community and your channel have been so loving and helpful ❤

    I smelled my boys and they smell faintly of pee. 😂 But they are really determined about peeing on each other, except for my neutered Olly, but his brothers make up for it. 🤣 The video with the rat who lives in that small cage makes me so sad, poor darling has been alone for so long and the owners don't see anything wrong with it. Again, long life doesn't equal good life. There are literally all kinds of animals who live a long life in shitty conditions, doesn’t make it okay.

    Ive been watching this channel for a while but haven't really commented, i just wanted to say thank you for your channel and videos❤ i want rats in the future and your videos have really helped me in making sure that when i do get them, ill be providing them with the best life i can. I hope you know how many animals youve helped, not only through your rescue, but also the tens and thousands of owners you have educated, and encouraged to provide better lives for their animals. Youve helped animals that you will never even meet❤ Ive wanted rats for quite a few years now, but Im a huge advocate for doing TONNES of research before taking any type of animal into your care so Im holding off until I feel up for it. I currently have a bearded dragon who free roams, so he contantly gets himself into trouble. Regarding the video of the child with the crappy cage, I always advocate for own research, but I really wish pet shops would STOP selling inadequate cages and accessories, and even the pets themselves to a certain degree. There will always be uneducated people who have no intentions to learn, and the pet shops (Looking at you pets at home-gotten slightly better but not really) keep selling things that are unacceptable for a thriving animal. Not to mention staff that are more often than not, spewing out of date information.

    OMG why would anyone buy such a tiny cage? Although my 1st girl had been homed in a tiny no bar cage.. I'd never risk my ratties in my garden, disease and predators.. And haven't any of these ppl researched any kind of rat care? I'm new to rats. I took in my 1st last August, but I instantly knew she needed a larger enclosure. Mine wasn't great for the first night she was in a large zoozone cage with mesh on top. But she wasn't in that tiny ( so called dwarf hamster monstrosity) with no water btl and sawdust.I'm surprised she's still with me after her early life. She went into a coco next day. I have since took 2 male rats from same unsuitable owners. They were 7 months old, had a 7 inch wheel( which I took of immediately and smashed) A attached food bowl with a small amount of some kind of nuggets. No water at all. And crappy shavings. Oh and a furry hammock that was ransid, I washed it and the water looked like black coffee. I just don't understand why ppl don't research their pets. Yrs ago we didn't have all the info available that we have now. I've been researching care since Sandy came here, last August. I worry about the heat etc.. I'm sure the owner who put her in that tiny plastic topped Thing wouldn't and doesn't even ask if they are ok. All I can say is poop! They shouldn't have pets.

  • @Emiology

    @Emiology

    Жыл бұрын

    For baby rats you’ll either want to have them in a temporarily smaller cage or split the big cage just so they don’t get as overwhelmed while they settle in, it also makes bonding with them easier. The only way a cage can be too big is if it’s not set up correctly / safely and you don’t have any things to fill the space in case they fall 😊

Sometimes even when he is alone in the cage he would get spooked out of nowhere and jump around and squek. On the medical side he is ok.. I am trying to feed him more so he gets bigger, but it doesnt seem to have an affect. that pimple popping video part in 4:30 is not nice. That owner pus so hard in critical area(face near eyes) where are huge risk damage nerves tiny animals face. as you can see that rat has closed eye(pain) all ready and she squished it so hard and it dont show that rat after that..we know why(clear signs of pain). Dont like those videos. Im nurse and even beautician wouldn't push so big pimple so close eye/nose nerves and so HARD.. emptying such a large cyst just by squeezing is beneficial because the bag itself remains inside, which collects stuff inside again. You could see from the rat that the eye area was painful and maybe even constant nerve pain (nerves in the facial area were pinched and damaged several times=permanent nerve damage requires either nerve surgery or anesthesia. Medicines rarely help, and the painkillers given to rats and rabbits in animal experiments rarely help them, so I would definitely not support such videos Removing such a large cyst from the facial area (compare the size on a human face where it would be a fist-sized abscess!) should be done correctly, i.e. anesthetize the entire area, make a small incision through which the contents are squeezed out and the cyst sack itself is removed so that it does not recur. Now this rat has to every time to suffer in the hands of this animal abuser because it is clear as day how people underestimate the pain of animals! All animals should have the opportunity to communicate with the help of e.g. talking buttons where they could say "no", "it hurts", "the head hurts", "stop", "don't" etc. when not it would be left for the person to "explain" that nothing happened to the animal during the procedure and it likes this"..yeah..they don't like it.

    Thank you for these videos. I find it really hard not to write comments on the harmful videos I see on KZread but remind myself it adds to the algorithm if I do. It makes me so deeply sad. Some of it is mis-education but some of it is just outright animal cruelty. 😭❤
