You can actually see just how much more reliant Herobrine is on his lightning compared to when we see him in Season 1. I like that detail on how Herobrine is nowhere near as skilled of a combatant in this video as when he fought in We Are the Danger or even One of a Kind.

dude did not know he had magic, that is why he reacted the way he did.
