If it were to be in my language or so many others language, we would still say engaged (in that language), which automatically means nikkah has been done and to assume it has been done, ( to give the benefit of the doubt and not judge that couple) its called the way of Rasulullah aj. So? And No ppl need to investigate, ask or research after questioning it, its called common sense.
