Paving the way by definition means making it easier for those who come after you. BTS has done the exact opposite of that, they have made it harder for other groups to be considered a “success” because if they don’t reach the western audience/ get recognition like BTS and BP they are considered flops by army. (When I say that I don’t mean all army)

1- agree with you take, they are stable-ish in my opinion. 2- yes, they paved the way outside k-pop market and it doesn't mean anything bad about other groups' current efforts to succeed. 3- agree 4- same what about boa? 5- agree 6- no, give more quiet ones if they are quality songs 6- yess on house music 7- no opinion 8- I respect writing but I don't put all writers on the same level. Sorry but some write so they/their group can be song writers 9- Agree 10- Agree, concerts lip syncing makes me lose respect to them 11- no opinion 12- you proved you are wrong, LOL 13- It isn't that hard , I swear. They put kpop on the global market after being niche and many acts worked hard and started succeeding there after that like they literally built hybe and you can see how global almost all of their groups are. 14- agree 15,16- no opinion , hmmm 17- Agree 18- no opinion 19- Agree 20- Agree on the hate being mentioned for no reason and some armys being over mentioning them 21- I am not agreeing tbh - hello the vocals at least - 21- Don't agree at all. RV have great diversity 22- Agree on op's , BTS got the most hate for the English trilogy more than people having full English albums 23- Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 24- Judging by brand ranking is wrong cause it literally depends on brands. BTS can't take any new brand deals or even promote as much in their current brands cause they are in the military(enlisted members always drop in ranking). I respect the opinion overall though just pointing this out. Time will show what happens to BTS but for now they are still sweeping achievements maybe not in k-award shows that needs the sales and k-gp streaming but the rest is still with them. Like, they are mentioned in every article that mentions Korea + 4th/5th gen achievements still try to compare to them. 25- no opinion 26- agree but NJs got the more listenable songs and this tbh with enough talent can make the group the biggest. 26- no opinion 27- From outsiders pov, tbh it seems like that but looking closer will make this one not true. 28- hard agree on the last opinion, ships are the worst thing in k-pop and it causes a ton of other issues.

My hot take is that both bad hobby and wicked love would have been a better tt than hate rodrigo.

About the Gidle being chronically online now take, I don’t think they mean it in the terms of idle having feminist anthems, I’ve seen the take before and most of the idle feels chronically online now opinion basically boils down to idle taking less risks in there production and having Soyeon write more. Also thematically there just not as diverse as they used to be

my opinion is at 8:15, what I meant was that BTS was probably the first most popular kpop group in the west (following after being blackpink, twice and a few others) if it weren’t for their popularity outside of korea. however, for their time and generation, they definitely made it easier for other groups to market.

oh i agree that their popularity is what helped other groups grow in the west, but to me that's undeniable and what it also undeniable is that other groups (escpecially their seniors) played their own part before that. but i thought paved the way automatically meant talking abt the western market

responding to your #22 comment about gen4. I would classify gen4 is when kpop became lazy music making and lost a lot of its musicality. This has ZERO to do with the idols themselves, but the companies that run them. Companies will sacrifice everything to make money including actually making music. Companies if fans buy it, would put out a track with 1 word repeated for 2 mins and call it a title track

i don't listen NJ but a cat should be called a cat i think NJ music being basic (in my opinon ) don't showcase their skills. i think dance they are in itzy level and vocal i think they are close to Baby monster level putting them under nmixx, aespa, Itzy and Gidle i can understand but under Lsf and ive ???? NO ive and lsf skills are litterally carried by 2 members: Rei and Liz for ive Yunjin and Chaewon for lsf

lmao saying lsf and ive are only carried by two members is wrong ive: yujin & liz in the vocals, rei in rap, all in performance (espcially liz and wonyoung) and wonyoung in popularity lsf: yunjin & chaewon vocals, all in performance whereas as newjeans: yes they are better than those two groups in dance, but not really in vocals imo (they are all collectively stronger than the weakers members of both groups i agree tho) and in performance they are good but not as good as lsf and ive is better in rap BUT all three groups are very talentend with good music and it doesn't really matter at the end of the day

@@seulgiicy the only good vocalist is Liz, Yujin isn't like idol who are catastrophique and who really struggle like Sakura but she isn't close to Liz both group don't have any outstanding dancer, Aespa for exemple have Karina, Gidle have Yuqi and Soyeon, i don't take in count the performance aspect but only the 3 area : rap dance vocal. vocal : there are only Liz, Yunjin and Chaewon dance : they arent bad but it's the typical of most kpop girls idol and don't have a outstanding dancers. and rap: there only Rei who's noticeable
