    Dieng is still super young, has a ton of potential, and could be huge trade chip later. Plus they needed to consolidate picks. None of the ones they gave up are turning into anything so it's a win on all fronts.

    These videos reacting to past draft grades are great. It would be interesting if you pulled them together in a follow-up about lessons learned. In other words, did you find a systemic flaw in how you assess picks? For example, in hindsight, do you now realize you focused on the wrong things or were better at evaluating front-court players than back-court ones (or vice-versa)?

    if im detroit im tryna get adrian griffin jr hes listed 6 6 but in a interview they confirmed that he was closer to 6'7 he not built lanky like watson for example we know he can shoot i believe that he has all the tools for defense and thats only alligned with effort for him and with his frame he could also be a great finisher your looking at a 2-way insidie out scorer whos still young as hell detroit can not only give him playing time and touches but he also fits them id then run cade ivey griffin ausar duren with sasser grimes and sign like a Covington you have stewart as the backup big and run it with that but we could see detroit add like a risacher next season to improve their shooting at 6'9

    I’m a DET fan and Chauncey is a legend to me. I didn’t take it as Chauncey “hate” tho. He clearly hadn’t been a great HC at that time. He has gotten better since then, but it wasn’t some crazy thing to say in 2022 that he wasn’t the best. Even now where would you realistically grade Chauncey as a HC? He’s not T10 obviously. I’d say he’s below average still, at the time I would’ve felt comfortable saying he was in the bottom 10-12. In no order I’m just naming better coaches currently… Spo, Carlisle, Udoka, Daigneault, Taylor Jenkins, Kerr, Ty Lue, Malone, Snyder, Nurse, Thibs, Finch, Vogel, Hardy, Mike Brown. Gotta give Pop the benefit of the doubt for now too, but that’s already 15. That’s off the top of my head, prolly missing some. So he’s below average at least…and again Chauncey is one of my favorite players ever and is a DET legend. He should be in the HOF no doubt about it.

  • @BOnYTB

    @BOnYTB

    5 ай бұрын

    Do you know how hard it is to make immediate reactions to a draft for 30 picks or w/e? Especially if you’re watching tons of NBA? Even people who do this for a living (Sam Vecenie is really good, it took him many years to get good) can have some atrocious looking misses. I’d love to see you do a mock draft and see how it turns out. He obv watches, but he was in school while doing KZread, keeping up with college and the NBA. He just now decided to start doing YT full time and quit his job. This stuff ain’t easy and he is at least willing to take the L on his bad ones and try and learn from it. I assume since you knew Paolo was gonna be #1 even tho he wasn’t consensus at all, that you went and bet on that at 5/1? 7/1? I’m sure you made thousands. Saying MOST of them were bad takes is wild though. He was pretty conservative with the grades, which he admitted and said he’s trying to get better at. He clearly didn’t love some of these and still gave like B’s. Dalen Terry is an example, he clearly didn’t like it at the time but still gave a B. I personally thought Johnny Davis was the worst lotto pick, I would’ve given that a D or D- at the time 100%. But I don’t have a YT channel with a huge audience. I get being a little nervous to really 💩 on a pick and piss off fans, and/or look like a total idiot if you end up being dead wrong. Again he admitted that and we’ll see if he improves with that and the guard bias etc. I see guys who get in to this full time and it literally takes them years and years to even be a decent talent evaluator. I’m not trying to “glaze” here, he clearly made a lot of mistakes…but he also had some hits that were against consensus. If you wanna criticize him that’s cool, but saying you’re convinced he doesn’t watch the prospects is straight up challenging his credibility as a person. That’d mean he’s lying to his audience. That’s a really big claim to make and pretty disrespectful. It’s the 2022 draft not the 2018 draft, so much can still (and will) change.
