Interested in being on a future episode of Vinyl Dens? Please send your submission to channel33rpm@gmail.com. Make sure to include 6 to 8 clear, well-lit and in-focus photos of your space and gear, including long shots and close ups (horizontal photos are better than vertical).
Also include a bit about yourself (name, age, where you live, how long you have been collecting), a bit about your gear, and information about your room (where in your home it is located, how you put it together, special considerations, cool features, etc).
I will do my best to get as many rooms as possible on future episodes; however, please note I do get more submissions than I have time to show. All types of music rooms welcome. Thanks!

I'm a frugalphile. I don't pay full retail price for music or music related stuff. As long as it sounds good to me is all that counts. 😎👍

Yes, my motto is "Retail is for suckers", so I always do my best to take advantage of sales or to buy things used, but in great shape, so I also enjoy a good bargain. :)

Hi Frank regarding introducing children to music, my 5 year old Granddaughter loves sitting in my music room with me & I played her The Bangles & Kate Bush. Then she asked for something new so now it's Def Leppard & Iron Maiden. When she goes home she says to her Mum do you wanna get rocked 😊 . Love your channel Frank.

Trick or Treat sountrack is f'ing awesome!
Radio Shack was actually rebadged. Teac, Ibm, Pioneer, Dual etc Sears and Pennys did the same thing
Some great rooms here, lots of ideas, all I need now is a house 😊❤
Always dig the vinyl dens. Thanks for making this a regular segment.
11:42 I assume by Jim referring to "Corn Country" that he lives in Iowa perhaps? Iowa is a major corn-producing state.

I was with my dad, an old DJ with a big record collection, when I checked out KZread and saw you had a new video up, and there was my record room! Thanks so much for sharing! And keep up the great videos, love your stream❤🎶🤘
I was also a teenager in the 70s. The thing about Radio Shack was that their yearly product catalogue was delivered to every home back then. I pored over every page, especially the first 30 or so pages of stereo gear. Who didn’t covet an “everything” system of theirs back then. They also had a lot of suburban and mall stores that were less intimidating for a kid than the fancier downtown hi fi boutiques. Our neighbourhood Radio Shack was in a strip mall at the corner of Beliveau and St. Mary’s in St. Vital.
Great rooms! I always enjoy seeing what folks put on their walls
I Freakin" love vinyl dens!
Just started collecting vinyl about 5 months ago. I’d love to have a room like one of these some day man!
Hey Frank, your series of vinyl dens seems to be unearthing some amazing music rooms and they keep on coming. Love the reference to the "Fonz", with the music den over the garage... cool !! That Beatles den and bar it just amazing !! I could sit and watch these all day. Some are more than rooms and more like shrines !
Wicked rooms fo sho 💎
Some pretty cool setups there! And speaking of Realistic, I still have a walkman of theirs that I bought in the 90s that was still working fine last I used it. I should dig it out again.
I am a gigantic Beatles fan and have seen lots of Beatle rooms/areas. This the the best I have ever seen! The bar and comfortable chairs make it even better! Had to watch that segment twice. What a fun room to hang out in!
Killer video bro
Thanks for featuring my systems along with all the other killer systems you featured on this latest video and all the ones before it. I have two adult children who fondly remember music always playing in the house.

Really like these videos. Cool to see how others handle their space and collections.
I greatly appreciate the coverage of these Class D amps and similar sized separates. I decided to go with a Yamaha RX-V385 receiver on sale for around $285 US instead but am keeping my mind open for future small room / garage needs. I just couldn’t beat the ease and convenience of one device, and one stop features (solid DACs, HDMI w/ARC, 5 channel, Bluetooth, on screen menu etc). Once you add all the other things I would need I feel like I’d be at least there in terms of investment. But doesn’t mean I enjoy these reviews any less.
love seeing all the different music rooms
Wow❤
That Beatles fan has EVERYTHING! I've known several Beatles fans whose rooms had Beatles everywhere, but the one in this video is truly over the top for the Fab Four!

Thanks Tom. When someone goes up the stairs for the first time, they get a taste of what’s in store for them with my framed 45’s and original posters on the stairway walls. I usually lead the way just so I can see their faces when they step into the room. I love it when they are speechless. 👍🏼
The best park of having your stereo in the basement is your floor is concrete as well as the walls behind the drywall. My speakers would shake the floor if I wasn't in the basement. I can also play louder and not get noise complaints.
One great thing about being a basement dweller is you don’t have to worry about the weight of your records breaking your floor joists.🤘🏻🎶🎸
I love these videos of people’s music dens ! Cheers Frank.
Dang my setup aint got crap on these!

It's all about time, patience, perseverance, and doing online research. For every cool vintage piece of audio gear I have (Pioneer, Sansui, Sony, Technics, Denon, NAD, Akai, Aiwa, Bang & Olufsen, etc.), I did a lot of research on KZread to see how the gear looked and functioned. I also checked online reviews to see what other collectors or buyers thought or if there were any common faults or flaws to avoid, etc. That's the beauty of the vinyl-collecting or music or media or gear-collecting hobbies that they are worth building great collections over many years. :)

@@TorontoJon I have an idea, im currently in a temporary home and moving back to my old space. I have a small room I might turn into a mini record shop styled room! I do currently have some good kit, a Fluance RT 85 and a Sony receiver. My cassette decks (3) are all vintage and also my CD player. I have some great modern klipsch speakers! I just need to decorate my space a bit!

@@Ricecooker64 That sounds awesome. Also, if you're looking for great record storage shelves, I highly recommend IKEA Kallax units (formerly Expedit units), so if you have an IKEA anywhere nearby, it's worth checking out. One can also decorate one's space with a lot of cool vintage music or movie posters and have them either framed or displayed on walls with some simple magnets to keep hold them in place. The possibilities are endless when it comes to music/media room-decorating. :)
I so need a a music room. I’ve got some decent stuff,Bowers and Wilkins speakers, Denton turntable, some Paradigm stuff. Somewhere to just listen to music and also plug in and play guitar.
Love these episodes! Helps to give me ideas for my own room, thanks
This was fun and interesting to watch. Great to see how people set up their vinyl dens! Thanks.
Lots of amazing and inspiring music rooms once again, Frank. They are all about time, patience, perseverance, and doing online research. For every cool record, CD, or movie I have or for every vintage piece of audio gear I have (Pioneer, Sansui, Sony, Technics, Denon, NAD, Akai, Aiwa, Bang & Olufsen, Harman Kardon, Yamaha, etc.), I did a lot of research on KZread to see if the albums or movie releases were any good or to learn how the gear looked or functioned. I also checked online reviews to see what other collectors or buyers thought or if there were any common faults or flaws to avoid or pitfalls, etc. That's the beauty of the vinyl-collecting or music, media, or gear-collecting hobbies that they are worth building great collections over many years. As the saying goes, it's not the destination; it's the journey remembering where and when one collected those items, where one was at the time or whom one met, what great conversations were had, etc. :)

Radio Shack receivers and amps were often the previous year's Pioneer models. Vintage audio collectors shouldn't hesitate.

So cool places. Still waiting to see someone having tv and soundsystem with vinyl collection in bedroom. Would be nice to get some tips. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
I have been collecting records since I was 12 years old (1993) and feel jealous of all these collectors who just started and equipment is by far better looking than my own. It actually inspires me to get more updated equipment and not keep accepting pawn shop hand me downs from the 80s. Thank you for this!
Thanks, Frank. This is one of my favorite segments of the show.

Always enjoy these, Frank! When I get finished with my own studio/office/music den, I'll shoot some photos your way - I don't think it's going to be quite like any that anyone in the vinyl community has ever seen, as i'm setting it up for optimum ease of digitizing my whole collection eventually. Keep up the great work, dude!

Love these room pics Frank. I cant send pics....my vinyl room is my garage...listen to a lot of music when I am repairing things and vehicles up on the lift. My Gear tho is ok....NAD326bee preamp...Proton D1200amp....RSb78r Cassette deck....FT440 Tuner. Speakers are Sound dynamics 10S....Rega P6. It runs the garage very nice. Oh...Speaking of Radio Shack....I have a Realistic STA 820 I use in the computer room...love it and it weighs a ton...solid piece of gear when RS made...IMO...good gear. Long time ago tho. But Frank, I want to ask and maybe you can do a show on this. How much do people spend on RSD? I was at RSD 2023 and I spent almost 1k...but the guy ahead of me bought 3.9K...He had a lot of vinyl but I nearly fell over when I heard the total. Does anyone here spend that or more for RSD? Inquiring minds want to know :) All the best Frank to you and yours. Hugs from Newfoundland Rod

I built some sub boxes for a buddy that has 2 - 12" Radio Shack specials. That thing pounded!!! The only problem with collecting is when you die - no one cares about your crappy stereo and toss it in the garbage.
The guy has Styx Equinox on vinyl in his room, yet doesn’t know who Kiss are? I know they are different types of rock, but that seems strange. Both Styx and Kiss are two of my all time favorites.
@pnichols6500
Жыл бұрын
I just got a remastered, remarkable copy of Grand Illusion, one of my all time favorites, but I have never owned a KISS album and never will. Just wasn't into the makeup crap, and wasn't a fan of the music. So I can easily understand why he likes Styx and not KISS. I grew up in the 60's/70's and there were so many fantastic groups, everyone was able to find groups that appealed to them. I would much rather go see Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Zappa, Heart, Yes, Alan Parsons etc than KISS, but that's just my taste.
Corn country??? Possibly Nebraska?
I once saw a video with this Guy showing his The Residents collection and some of them had become damaged due to being stored in the basement and getting damaged due to flooding. I notice a lot of people in these vinyl rooms have their equipment and music in the basement. In this video, I see two dens above their garages. I would be quite concerned if I had my music in the basement. How do you feel about it Frank. I suppose it's the best place for you due to a number of reasons.
"Corn Country" more than likely Indiana lol
