I saw Robin Williams at a bookstore in Berkeley. He was pulling books off the shelves and acting out the covers to entertain some kids that were there shopping with their parents. It was incredibly heartwarming, and it truly breaks my heart we lost such a bright light. Good Will Hunting is one of my fave movies

Jumanji is such a great movie! Robin Williams was a National Treasure and he is sorely missed. Bicentennial Man is a massively underrated movie, I highly recommend watching it for the channel.

Saying somebody who committed suicide passed away would be the same thing as saying somebody who quit their job was actually fired. It never bugged me before I just always sounded stupid. After my mom passed away a woman who loved life now it bugs me.

Don't forget Mork and Mindy! That's probably how most of us in my generation met him.

The one thing I always liked about this film (and the animated show) over the more recent movies was that you got the feeling that Jumanji (both the game and the Jungle) had a malicious personality all of it's own and was actively out to get you.

Same here, the new ones were fun adventures, but there didn't feel like there was any real danger or menace. In this one, Jumanji plays rough.

The 2017 Jumanji movie isn't a remake. It's a sequel set about 20 years later with new characters and a new spin on the game. I liked it a lot, and if you're a fan of Jack Black, you probably will too.

My children (20’s and 30’s) talked me into reluctantly watching the 2017 movie while I was visiting for Christmas one year. I was not really interested in watching it because I thought it was a remake and I didn’t see how they could make it better. As you say it isn’t a remake and it’s one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a long time. Yes it starts very predictable but what they do with the story after the set up is hilarious.

In the "sequel" a player is living in the house supposedly built by Robin Williams' character in the original during the years he was trapped there (although the world seems to be an entirely different place), but when he got out of the game time reset back to the start and he was never there.

You have to watch "Hook", as it's a great childhood movie and favourite of mine that deserves more attention! While it's a fun sequel, I prefer this one to "Welcome to the Jungle"and "the Next Level", as the Jungle in this version, we never see and painting the picture in our mind is Alan's speech about the horrors in the game that we never truly see.

Jumanji is a classic. Two must-see Robin Williams films that unfortunately now feel forgotten are One Hour Photo (2002) and World's Greatest Dad (2009). Very different from any of the traditional comedies or dramas that Williams has been in, but essential for any fan of his to see.

Wow yes, I'd nearly forgotten One Hour Photo. That and Insomnia show Robin Williams as you rarely saw him - playing a chilling villain. But both roles showed how much range he had as an actor and how good he really was, that he wasn't just in goofy comedies. Although I did like him in Toys too, which is an odd kind of film, superficially madcap and weird but with some deeper emotional layers (rather like Jumanji).

"One Hour Photo" is a *really* creepy role for Robin. It's my favorite non-comedic movie of his.

Yes! Aslan! Aslan sent Alan to protect Judy and Peter, as we know board games can be more dangerous than a wardrobe, and a delightfully fun movie reaction.😇

That's Patricia Clarkson as Alan's mother. She had a substantial role alongside Kurt Russell in "Miracle" (2004). You've GOT to see that. Classic.

I'm 37 and I still play video games, board/table top games and role playing games. I loved this movie growing up. The actor that play his dad also played Van Pelt.

The new Jumanji movie is a must watch!! I was very very skeptical when it came out but I was blown away by how great of a movie it was!! First off the new movie was a sequel to the original not a remake. Second they pay respect to the original movie with some great Easter eggs. Lastly the new movie is one of the most funny movies I’ve ever seen!! I would also highly recommend the sequel to the new movie as well!!

This movie is related to "Zathura", which is a different board game that goes to space. In the original picturebooks by Chris Van Allsburg, Zathura is on the reverse side of the Jumanji board. I would check out the books, they have amazing illustrations! I do recommend the 2017 Jumanji movie, they were smart and turned it not just into a video game but into a -90's- video game! Very specific aesthetic!

Just remember since their parents are still alive the children haven't actually reached the date and time they started playing the game. I think when that point is reached they will remember at least temporarily the game and what happened while playing. Similar to how Sarah said she wanted to do that kiss before she totally forgot what being an adult was like.

In the original, time reverts to the time the currently-played game was originally started, so Alan and Sarah are back to being children with Judy and Peter not existing at all yet (as opposed to being returned to the time when they JOINED the game in progress like in the sequel). In the newer ones, all players are returned to their respective times with their memories intact, which doesn't make sense. If the game reversed itself for uh... the guy played by that Jonas brother-guy, then he would've never started the game, the game would've been in his house when he returned and even if it had somehow still ended up in the kids' school later, there wouldn't have been a game already in progress for the kids to join and they wouldn't have met the Jonas guy, cause he wouldn't have been in Jumanji. I get why they changed it for that movie but the way it works in the first movie definitely makes a lot more sense.

I was thinking the same thing about the newer movies until I saw them. They made them sequels to this one with some really great call backs/easter eggs. They're actually really good, telling a very different story. As for other Robin Williams movies; Father's Day is a fun one, Toys is an enjoyable kind of strange, and What Dreams May Come is just beautiful.

I balled like a baby when they announced he had taken his own life. He spent his entire life making people happy instantly lighting up the room the second he walked in or the second he appears on the screen. He was my childhood, from Jack(My absolute favorite) to Mrs.Doubtfire, Jumanji to BiCentennial man, Flubber to Patch Adam’s. I have so many fond memories of watching Robin Williams movies.

Not just kids can hear the drums. Remember it said, “A game for those who seek to find a way to leave their world behind.” Meaning, it’s for anyone who wants to escape their world. Alan wanted to escape his father, and Judy and Peter wanted to escape grieving for their parents. I think the game is trying to teach u that ur world might not be as bad as u think

A good Robin Williams movie that also stars Julianne Moore, Hugh Grant, Tom Arnold, Jeff Goldblum, and Joan Cusack is “Nine Months”. Maybe be among Williams more underrated performances, to which I may or may not be wrong, but still a fun and very comedic role of his. You might also like Robin Williams, if you haven’t already seen it, as the animated character “Genie” in Disney’s Aladdin. Love and enjoy your KZread channel and reactions Mirandalorian. Loved watching your journey through the Back to the future trilogy.

This was a delight. Thank you Also, if you haven't seen the movie Awakenings (1990) with Robin Williams and Robert De Niro, I absolutely recommend that you do. It's based on a true story when a doctor brings a group of catatonic patients back to life. It's so beautiful and sad at the same time.

he was such a beautiful man, plagued by his inner deamons and bitterly desperately unhappy with himself, but always tried to turn that around and use it to bring joy and happiness to others

The World According to Garp is a must if you want to see a very underrated film of Robin Williams.

Dead Poet's society literally broke me. I saw it in the theater and it was the first time he was associated with a movie like that. So it was totally unexpected. Looking back I think it was a good thing, but man, at the time it was devastating. Not as bad as the realization that it was a baby in MASH (the TV show) but nearly so.

I've never seen this movie because I saw the stampede clip as a kid and it was scary and everyone said I was crazy for being scared. So thank you for the validation that this movie is actually kind of terrifying!

Don't think of it as painful that you haven't seen all those Robin Williams movies, be glad. Now you get to see all of them for the first time!

This movie really fun the newer one is also great but instead the game being part of the world, the characters being part of the game. I also love “Hook”. Nice job.

About who hears the drums. It's not just kids that can hear them and I only noticed it after watching the movie several times: "Jumanji: a game for those who seek to find a way to leave their world behind." That's what all the kids wanted for different reasons. Allen wanted to go away, Sarah wanted to be there for him, Judy and Peter because they lost their parents. They might not have realized it, but they wanted to leave their world behind. That's exactly what the game gave them and also taught them that maybe their world isn't so bad. While I can understand the reaction, I don't think you can destroy the game. After all, it can reshape reality and time. I haven't seen the remake and I won't. I have no idea if it's good or not and I don't care. The thing is, when I heard they made another one after all that time my mind went nuts. Happening the stuff from Jumanji happening in a big city? The Jungle slowly taking over skyscrapers? With today's effects? I couldn't wait to see that. And then came the trailer. I understand what they did and why they did it, but it just isn't for me.

@Anthropy Requien yes it does evolve and becomes a video game to attract the newer generation, but some of the elements in it are off like there’s atvs and machine guns and a market. They had mosquitos but they were normal which in the original movie they were bigger than normal. Robin Williams said he’s seen things that we wouldn’t see in our nightmares if I were to make that movie I would did the video game idea wasn’t terrible but the jungle should modeled after the elements from the game like the poisonous plants quicksand the big mosquitoes the big spiders a stampede and then also add to it add exaggerated stuff from the jungle like mushrooms that bite peoples fingers or trees that sway and move remember this isn’t a normal jungle it’s Jumanji I get it they wanted it to be more video game Kish with a boss but that’s not what Jumanjis about it may use that as bait

Jumanji is such a fun movie, really makes you feel like you are going on an adventure. Also the modern one is actually really fun too, it largely just takes the basic idea and does it's own thing with it in some really clever and funny ways. It's defindly worth a watch.

It should be noted that the two Jumanji movies with The Rock and Jack Black are direct sequels to this one. In fact, in the first of those two movies, the hut Alan made when he was stuck in the Jungle for 26 years can been seen. This movie is also very loosely based on a children's book of the same name.

Yes please here's my vote for Bicentennial Man. It's rarely talked about but it's one of my favorite Robin Williams films.

It's not that only kids can hear it, the rules of the game says it: "a game for those who seek to find a way to leave their world behind". So only the people that were unhappy with their lives could hear the drum call. Alan was about to leave his entire life behind at escaping; Judy and Peter were mourning the loss of their parents, wishing life was different; my only doubt is Sarah, I guess she was trapped in a toxic relationship and wanted to be with Alan... There are three things that makes this movienfor me 1. The emotional aspects of the film are amazing and robin does a real good job. The part where he hears how his father whom he thought looked down on him Gave up everything to try and find him and gave up on work and life when he couldn't Is really powerful. How many of us don't share how much we are loved or how kuchcwenlove someone else, until too late? So when he's back as a kid again the first thing he does is tell his father how much he cares. 2. Kristen Dunst did a really good job as an emotionally damaged kid who covers their pain with lies and illusion And Bradley pierce is great as Peter For those who don't know, Bradley peirce was the voice of chip from beauty and the beast And also went to voice Nibs (one of the lost boys) from Disney's Return to Neverland (2002). Bonnie Hunt is perfect as usual as Sarah...she balnces hysterical and motherly so well 3. I really love Alan's arc in the film Going from the scared little kid to a adult who has to take on responsibility My favourite line from his is his final confrontation with Van Pelt "Aren't you scared?" "I'm terrfied, but my father told me, you have to face your fears" Great moment where he finally stands up to the representation of his fear.

Van Pelt didn't miss Sarah and the kids. By the rules of the game, Alan specifically is his prey. He was trying to capture them to use as bait for Alan.

Robin Williams left his mark on so many people's hearts. It's such a treat to revisit his work at any possible opportunity. It's been a while since I watched Jumanji and I'm so very happy you enjoyed this. The remake doesn't deserve as much publicity as it gets

Robin Williams is a true delight. As for the new Jamanji movies, they're a completely different feel. Decent comedies

I was a teen when this movie came out and I watched it a ton of times. I loved it! I mean, Robin Williams... enough said. The new one I avoided for the longest time because it didn't look like it had anything to do with the original and I figured it was just some sort of cash grab on our nostalgia (which is probably still is). But I finally did see it one day and I was actually delightfully surprised. It's not the exact same as this one and has a different feel to it but it was still a lot of fun and pretty funny. I actually would recommend watching that one. The second I don't remember caring for as much and I feel like that one was made because the first one was popular. I'm sure others liked it and there are probably still some funny bits in it but it didn't have that magic the first (new) one had. THIS one will always be my favorite though, even without Karen Gillan.

The way I think of it was that the Christmas party ending was the reality as it was suppose to be. Alan would hire the kids" Dad so the parents did not take a vacation. That reality was broken when Alan was sucked into the game and never took over his father's shoe company.

Bicentennial Man is absolutely a classic and you would absolutely love it! Also he voice acted Robots and it's epic.

Great reaction! As much as I love the original Jumanji, I really enjoyed Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) as well. I think people would really like watching you react to that film too. I won't give away the plot, but I thought the way it was updated to somewhat more modern times was very clever.

The real Patch Adams hated the Patch Adams movie… he thought it was a misrepresentation of him

After 'Good Will Hunting' came out, my dad got mistaken for Robin Williams a lot for a few years. It was the beard. My dad's didn't have any grey in it but otherwise their beards looked almost the same. Once, my dad was in a gas station and the guy at the register started freaking out saying, 'You're Robin Williams!' My dad had to take out his ID and he *almost* had the guy convinced he wasn't Robin Williams then he made the mistake of joking. He said, 'If I _was_ Robin Williams, I think I'd remember.' After that the guy was 100% convinced my dad was him.

"What if they all get sucked in?" That would be "Jumanji: The Animated Series" which ran from 1996 to 1999!

Remakes? Whoever told you that is wrong. The new ones are part of a trilogy that takes place twenty-two years after the events of this one. Not a spoiler. It's in the description even

Bicentennial Man, Mrs. Doubtfire, Goodmorning Vietnam, and Flubber are must watches. You can skip Popeye, that one wasn't that great. I would also recommend watching Hook, where Robin plays a grown up Peter Pan and Dustin Hoffman plays Captain Hook.

You know, the funny part about having a reaction channel, and admitting to movies you haven't seen, is that I believe it has the opposite response than what you imagine. People like myself are now excited to watch your first time watching something.

Awesome reaction to an awesome movie!| This movie is a plethora of every childhood nightmare: quicksand, crocodiles/alligators, giant bugs, etc. And the entire cast was so very good in it too. Robin Williams is not appreciated enough for all he did to bring joy to others. Such a tragic end for such a wonderful human. Speaking of other Robin Williams movies, I remember seeing The Fisher King in the movie theater on a date. I was expecting a typical Robin Williams comedic performance because that was what he was known for, and his dramatic performance in that movie left me stunned. He was such an amazing actor. The sequel from 2017, Welcome to the Jungle, is a very good movie too. Not great cinema but enjoyable entertainment for certain. And another amazing cast too. Absolutely worth a watch. There are so many good Robin Williams movies, and so many that I haven't seen either at my advanced age. 😛 Watch more! P.S. I am a huge fan of Robin Williams and I've worked with kids a lot in my life and yet I have never seen Mrs. Doubtfire either. 😲So you're not alone in that. 😛

Flubber is a remake of a MUCH better movie, The Nutty Professor (1961). There are far better R.W. movies out there. The Fisher King is probably his best performance, although he was a scarily realistic villain in One Hour Photo. My personal favorite though is Death to Smoochy, no question.

There are quite a few Robin Williams movies you can skip, but there are some must watches, and my number one recommendation would be Hook. It's directed by Steven Spielberg and it's wonderful. Ms. Doubtfire is also very good.

The newer Jumanji movies are not remakes. They are essentially sequels. I'd definitely recommend them.

@The Mirandalorian: 47:28 Did you recognize the beach? Bc fun fact: the newer Jumanji movie starts right there, which I thought was pretty cool when I first watched that one bc I remembered it from the original. And yes it's a great movie! Watched it way back then numerous times with family. ☺

Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Morning, Vietnam are indeed very worth the time. Saw quite a few of his movies in cinema back in the day.

What makes the 90s such a good era of film is that so much of it is themed with horror. It all has this weird darkness to it.. From Jurrassic Park to Matilda.. A lot of the pg13+ had this in the formula and it worked so damn well.

Star Wars, Harry Potter, and The Lord Of The Rings we’re my movie series I loved watching growing up still rewatch them to this day

this movie is AMAZING! A true classic! Also one of Robin William's best!

. l NEED to recommend you more Robin Williams Movies♡ ★ - *Mrs. Doubtfire* (1993) ★ - *Bicentennial Man* (1999)

Your reaction to the bullying at the start is kinda heartwarming. That was just normal childhood at least as recently as the 80s when I was a kid, trust me.

My dad did voices, and wrote parody songs. He was a cross between Robin Williams and Weird Al. They're like, substitute parents for me, because they are my dad and my dad is them. Dad passed right after his 58th birthday. Am glad Weird Al at least is still going strong 💪

The same author also did Zathura. There are two sequels. The next one is different and good in another way. The third movie is good, but it got a bit tedious for me. We are never told where Jumanji and Zathura come from, or their intended purpose. They might be just benevolent teaching devices which always have good outcomes after teaching the players important lessons. Or malevolent devices that can kill.

While I enjoy this version, I absolutely love the re-imagining that the recent version brought to the story. As a videogame player, you would really love the changes they brought to the story. And it’s laugh-out-loud funny.

How does an adult become mentally and emotionally stronger slowly overtime as we age? By facing, dealing with, overcoming, and conquering difficulty, challenges, obstacles, hardships, and all levels and forms of conflict, how frequently? Every single day of our lives! The only thing to Fear, is Fear itself. Fear is meant to be faced, dealt with, overcome, and conquered daily! This is my philosophy that I came up with and this movie is a great representation of this concept!

In this movie his dad and the hunter van pelt are the same actor. Fatherly advice. Love your reactions. 😊🥰

It's odd that you've seen _Zathura_ before _Jumanji._ Everybody thinks the remake with Dwayne Johnson is the sequel to _Jumanji,_ but it's actually _Zathura._ It's a shame most people haven't seen _Zathura._ While not as good as _Jumanji,_ it's a decent movie. I can't help but be a little sad when I see Robin Williams' movies, TV shows and comedy specials now. I'm at an age where a lot of celebrities I watched growing up are passing away. No one's death hit me quite like Robin's. It feels... *wrong...* to live in a world where Robin Williams isn't here to make a hilarious joke about what's going on. I'm glad you took some time to appreciate the amount of heart in this movie. With all the action and fun stuff, viewers often miss the moments that touch the soul.

Great reaction as always, Miranda. Oh and just as a tip for if your brakes ever fail, shift down to the lower gears. Even most automatic transmission cars have a 2nd and 1st gear position on the shifter. Best to do it gradually if you can. It won't stop you completely, but it will slow you down considerably. It's possible to damage your engine/transmission this way, but it's better than crashing. Maybe most people know this, maybe they don't, but a reminder couldn't hurt. Anyways, again great reaction. Yeah, you got it, the hunter Van Pelt looking like his dad. Love that fun little detail for the movie that I realized recently before this, because the hunter Van Pelt reflects what the choice was for the board about having a hunter that makes you "feel like a child", and due to having a "connection" with Alan longer than the rest of them, the hunter took on the visage of his dad, who he at the time of being sucked into the game saw as his "main personal threat", plus it gives hints that Alan most likely had to hide and avoid Van Pelt the whole time he was inside the game. Make me wonder if the rest of Van Pelt's hunting party inside the game looked like his bullies. Plus him "missing" his shots I'm fairly certain is just scare tactics because they aren't his target, he's just scaring them into a cornered position he can use as a trap, well ATTEMPTING to. It's like how in Star Wars Episode 4 with the general joke of the Stormtroopers missing all their shots, but is most likely actually the same reasoning, it just kind of gets lost after a while. Although I wouldn't doubt some of them actually WERE having issues with their shots due to the whole "having issues seeing out the helmets" thing based on the improved line Mark made on set when they were disguised of saying "I can't see a THING in this helmet".

The best way to keep such dangerous object from being used would be to not hide it or bury it, but to put it right on display for everyone to see and incased in 5 inches of transparent volcanic glass. On the other hand, it is a way of traversing time. Basically, start the game for just a few rounds. Put it away for 20 years. While you wait, make note of events you wish to take advantage of (example: lotto numbers). After 20 years, finish the game which then returns you back to when you first started. Originally, Judie and peters parents died in an accident, but because Alan and Sarah began the game long before the parents died, their lives could be saved. Judie and Peter would never know the pain of losing their parents.

Hey neat! I was *in* RV with Robin Williams out in Vancouver, Canada... Just an extra in some camping scenes, you can't really see my face.... but no one ever mentions it, like its his forgotten work or something. It was a fun couple of days, Mr. Williams was always "on", even when the camera wasn't rolling... What a great man.

"I don't know why, but I thought this was going to be super family-friendly" honestly, this WAS family friendly when it released. I was 9 and my sister was 4, and our parents took us to the theaters to see it and we were not the only little kids there by a LONG shot. XD

The best thing about the new one is that it's not a remake. It's a continuation. And there is a tribute to Robin Williams in it. It's very moving.

I always love to imagine everything actually DID happen in the timeline secretly, and the Sheppards had to try to explain what happened here to the new homeowners. "Yeah, our kids and two unrelated adults were just playing a board game, and it unleashed animal chaos on the whole town. Then it just suddenly happened to reverse itself. Anyways, make yourselves at home. Please don't sue us if the same thing happens to you."

Glad you liked this. One of my favorites for a number of reasons, Robin Williams, Kirstin Dunst, David Allen Grier was a treasure. The CGI monkeys that were so bad they were good. PRICE CHECK!!... So much goodness that is based on: a children's picture book (no kidding) I know you are looking for Robin William's shout outs but I'm sure you'll get plentty of those so instead I want to recommend to try and find a Kirsten Dunst movie when she got a little older that you may not know of: Upside Down

Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman is a must watch. It was one of the first movies I ever saw in theaters. If I knew how to work paetron that's the one I'd request.
