Oh yes you have heard that song in your life - just not that rendition. I'm 63, you are probably in your 50's. Right? Never heard of the Beatles? I don't think so. I think you have. This is their version and the late John Lennon loved John's version and wished they were able to do a similar style. They were a rock band in the 60's and their management wouldn't go in that direction with this song. Anyway here is the link:- kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIWTvNx7d7PKoag.html

John Farnham is known as "THE VOICE". Just to let you know ALL of ur reactions to him need to be based of LIVE ONLY performances, to give him ANY justice. He can sing any genre, any note, technically perfect LIVE always. This song was an encore performance after a 3hr concert. It's originally an up tempo classic by the Beatles but even John Lennon himself said Farnsey as we call him sang it how it should have been sung. Farnsey & Barnsey (Jimmy Barnes from Cold Chisel) go wayyy back & both still have the best selling album records of all time which will never be beat. They've a duet "When Something is wrong with my Baby", a blues hit worth checking out live. Both have 50yr careers so you've quite the rabbit hole. JF did all genres & even starred in the lead in "Jesus Christ Superstar the musical" (best selling musical in Australia as a result w other Aus musicians) Queen asked JF to replace Freddie & he said NO. So if that doesn't speak volumes to his vocal abilities I don't know what else will. He also has a song which even today is still officiallyknown as "Australia's unofficial national anthem (he has had a few anthems) but it's called "You're the Voice". I'd recommend reacting to that song at the same concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. One of my all time favourites is a ballad w just him & an acoustic guitarist called "Burn for You". Must do live & it still brings tears to my eyes & goosebumps to re-watch live. He isn't just a rock singer (that said there is in audio only version he did in a soundcheck that often gets reacted to of "Black Dog". His version is just as good if not better & he literally was just "warming up his voice" with it pre-concert. You want 10K subscribers best keep reacting to Australian artists, in particular John, Jimmy & Cold Chisel. The Aussies come in droves, hence reactors end up going viral with as much as they can down these rabbit holes superquick. John Farnham is the GOAT. React to 50yrs of his live songs (prob 10 deep you'll really get it) Jesus Christ Superstar solo performance too.

I have NEVER heard John Farnham sing a bad note EVER. He is pitch perfect, no auto tune....just pure powerful talent. The man is an Aussie icon and legend, he was still performing in his late 60s and 70s with the same passion and energy. He sounds just the same now as he did back then!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 You may not have wanted to hear the crowd at the start, but John was so surprised and humbled that the audience was singing his song back to him. The man is a great human being , he's always been grounded and that touched him so much. The feeling of the audience being right there with him connecting with him must have been the greatest honour....and you saw that in his face, it made him emotional. Thanks for the reaction, keep em coming.

John Farnham has paid his dues in the music industry. He has had hits over five decades, starting in the sixties as a pop idol; and progressing through musical theatre, to become a world class adult entertainer. This song is John's version of The Beatles classic song Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. There is so much more, that the rest of the world has missed out on; John gave up the opportunity to international exposure, instead focused on family. He is a great human being, a consummate entertainer who interacts with his audience; and a true gentleman of entertainment.

John is an Aussie icon and this concert with the MSO was beyond amazing! Yes, the concert is 30+ years old, but it is still a milestone many modern performers aspire to. John is now in his 70’s and currently recovering from surgery for mouth/jaw cancer. Up until he had his surgery he was still performing live, especially for causes dear to his heart. Check out his performance from the Firefight Australia concert from 2020. ❤

This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol This song is one of the last songs of the night after he has already sung his heart out for nearly 3 hours, and Farnsey also has a way of getting deep into the emotions of your soul. A couple of songs worth checking have been mentioned below, plus these are worth a look also. The reason you haven't heard of him is because the US music industry is a closed little club. When John Farnham went to the US they didn't know which genre to put him in so his US promotions manager got him a couple of gigs in a little jazz club, where the MC introduced him as Jack Phantom. Couldn't even be bothered getting his name correct, so being a bit disheartened he wandered home to concentrate on his loyal fan base. The experience did give him inspiration to write a couple of good songs about missing his family, like this one. -Burn For You.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZoSE2LGhgNbWdaQ.html -Angels.. Notice how he holds the mike below his chest, both mikes are a metre away, which he does all the time to not drown out the other singers. JF with Lisa Edwards, a top singer in her own right, and one of John's back up singers for 20+ years. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5NmsKyLeceof5s.html -To show the calibre of his other back up Singers, showing you have to be good in your own right, just like Lisa. Vanetta Fields and Lindsey Field. kzread.info/dash/bejne/kaxqsJttf6jRirQ.html -Please Don't Ask Me.. This one with Olivia Newton John, who we have recently lost. John has also had major cancer surgery including removal of part of his jaw and we may not hear him sing again. So let's enjoy this one as well.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZKmKwdaTf6fMe5s.html -When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.... And even when he is singing with one of the most powerful voices on the planet, Jimmy Barnes, he still put the mike away from his face and closer to Jonny Diesel on guitar. kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4mTxKWcmKe9dpc.html Or this version. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hHWgqKqMgK-uoNI.html -When The War Is Over… Possibly one of his greatest vocals. kzread.info/dash/bejne/npqL1LqcZci0aMo.html -Or is the greatest. Gethsemane.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nWmr0a-TpKbSmKw.html -How about a mike test. He has the power and ability to distort microphones, amps, and get speaker stacks jumping. So this sort of setting up the venue test is a must. Lol Black Dog. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eGaNy5iNhsyTo7g.html Besides having the best voice ever, JF can adjust his tone, pitch, volume, to match the person he is singing with to either match them or sing just under them depending on who's the head line act, he will even back himself down when he is the head line to give others their moment to shine, and if my ears were sensitive enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he could vary his vibrato, timbre and all of those other things that voices can do so he could accentuate the other singers.

This song has so much meaning for John Farnham and all of his fans who have stuck by him for decades. It really was a cry for Help from him at the time. He was a huge Teen Idol and King of Pop in Australia back in the late 60's and into the mid 70's. But through bad management, bad investments and changing tastes in music, he had pretty much hit rock bottom by the mid 70's. He was broke and considered to be a has been and too old fashioned and was pretty much relegated to the caberet scene. There was point he couldn't even afford to buy his kids a cheap McDonalds birthday meal. In 1980, he took this old Beatles hit and re-arranged it into a slow power ballad and put his own spin in it, and sang it with such emotion and passion that we couldnt help but pay attention. It was the beginning of a 6 year journey, (with the help of his new manager, Glenn Wheatley and a 5 year stint as the Lead Singer for the Little River Band)... to getting back to the top as a solo artist. With the release of his album Whispering Jack in 1986, which became the highest ever selling Album in Australian history, John was back. He is the only artist in Australian history (and possibly the world) who has had songs and albums at the top of our charts, in 7 consecutive decades since 1967 right up to his most recent album Finding the Voice released May 2023. He is now in his 70's he is still as popular today as he has ever been. A true Aussie Icon and most beloved Aussie entertainer of all time.. So when he sings this song with the passion that he always does, we all know how real it is and we are all proud that we helped him get there.

His audience knows which songs they can sing to and which ones not. He encourages them to sing. He interacts with them. Telling jokes collecting flowers and gifts. He creates a party atmosphere, where he wants them to have fun. He doesn't sing at them, he sings to them, and with them.

More John Please The Voice next please. This is the classic Beatles track slowed down and totally owned by John. John Lennon once said that this version was how he wrote it to be sung but their echoed label made the Beatles seed it up to be more of a sixties pop tune. Still made no 1 for them but am so glad John did it his way 😂❤ But yes please do the Voice by John next 😂❤

Hey from Australia, loved you facial expressions when he hit those high notes 😊, great reaction. Honestly this isn't my favourite song but I love his voice and connection with the crowd. From the same concert, you should try reacting to. - your the voice - ACDC cover, it's a long way to the top. - playing to win. All of these are more rock and upbeat. You have now started down the Farnham rabbit hole, and it is a life changing journey. I hope your able to play some more Farnham, trust me, it will help your channel to explode. Good luck👍

John Lennon from the Beatles wrote this, he was forced to do an upbeat version though. He liked this arrangement. The audience singing was purely out of love for this guy. This was an encore after 2 hours of singing a concert, and still sounding great.

The song isn't a cry for help, never has been...Beatles version is a guy asking a girl to be his wife..Farnsey's version (my opinion) is asking his wife to help him keep his family orientated feet on the ground in his 2nd big run on the chart's 🤔..depression and the need for help didn't exist back then 😉🤙
