Great analysis, helps me understand why I felt like I did watching the battle on the livestream. Also happy to hear you talk about Jairo’s pitching, when I’ve seen other videos from them I’ve been super impressed with their pitching, but here (and especially in their elimination) they were off a lot of the time. Good to know why it happened to them (monitors).

Compared to other videos, the whole master volume is a little bit low

I do feel bit bad for Jackpot since they had to go up against the home team not once, but twice, first Jairo then Rofu. But at the end of the day they were there to have fun and they definitely had a shitton of fun

Jairo's second round is a cover of "Begin by Letting Go" by Etherwood, which was also covered by NME in his battle against Saro in the BBWC 2018 and also against INKIE at the GBB2019.

for the first round of jairo when you say, or imply that he is using a fart bass he is not. he's using his one of his 'signature' techniques which is a inward clickroll with his lips pressed together to make that bassy frequency

I feel like its just going to eventually end up being a cover battle which is okay but it kind of makes battles awkward if theres a group there that is prepped to battle and be serious like rogue wave and banter between each other. Idk at some point there has to be a line or maybe a new category otherwise the essence of a battle is going to just vanish.

Dlow the way you explained the last drop of Jairos first round is wrong. It was not fart bass and sub bass liproll. It was yamori doing his version of click roll with almost closed mouth so that the lips vibrate hard and I think John T was just doing the background beat with snare and throat kick

Hey Dan! After watching many of your videos, I want to finally tell you that you should chill a bit on the prejudice toward beatbox "covers" being bad. Technically, ALL beatbox covers are still originals. I appreciate your bias, but chill on the idea that it NEEDS to be original "information" to score higher in terms of your judgement and reactions. Think about a beatbox world where everyone avoids doing covers because the judges only give high scores to original songs 😢

It's just a matter of fact. creativity is one of the factors inspected and judged. He has even expanded and said that covers still can get a lat of points if done in a unique and interesting way. What it boils down to is if each contender created every sound perfecty with zero timing and pitching errors,, and presented well - constructed and creative rounds causing a tie then the one who performed a cover would recieve fewer creativity pointe because the lyrics/melody wasn't created by the performer.
