The reason a ton of suits were skipped is because we don't know about the suits that he skipped and the movie ironman was made in 2008, to 2019 so they would get this far.

Well what happened was alot of suits were made for the iron legion making it seem like alot of the suits even though they were all in 1 movie

No, not quite, the point is he blew up all his other suits because of quite a few reasons, one reason is pepper yeah but, tony has undergone a huge growth and changed from who he was for the past almost 3 movie's, the point is he realizes he is Iron man, not the suit itself like he was starting to believe, he said it himself all those other suits we're like a caccoon, he continues to be Iron man because it's the right thing to do, and also because it's who he is, plus pepper eventually let's it go for the most part because she realizes that, he doesn't regret blowing them up, infact I'm pretty sure he'd do it all again, granted after avengers infinity war he continued to build suits to cope and also because it's kinda what he dose, he's still iron man.
