The ‘David’ thing is this: It’s Celebrity Big Brother. David Guest felt very ill and went to bed. The others were very worried about him. Meanwhile, in the real world outside, David Bowie died of cancer. His ex-wife, and mother of his son, Angie Bowie, was a housemate in the house, so the producers called her into the Diary Room and, rightly, informed her. Angie then told another housemate ‘David has died’. She mistook which David she was talking about. Sadly, David Guest did die shortly after this, he looked dreadful on the show and it was easy for the other housemates to believe he had passed away. It made for great TV, another train wreck moment.

David Gest was a housemate & was sick in bed. The woman was referring to David Bowie. She had just found out David Bowie had died. So when she went in there saying David is dead, they thought she meant David Gest. She forgot David was also the name of a house mate, so didn't say David Bowie, just David. (It was celebrity Big Brother aired in 2016.)

The 3 people on the sofa & the guy announcing the winner on that program is called Come Dine With Me. For 4 nights each of them hosts at their own home. They cook a meal for everyone & at the end of the night, the 3 guests judge the host for the evening. I never saw that episode, but it looks like she ruined the night he was hosting & wasn't even bothered. So he was upset that she won.

In my mind, Iconic means (As Merriam-Webster defines it) "widely known and acknowledged especially for distinctive excellence". I know that the video I am suggesting is very different to your usual, light-hearted stuff, but this news report from 1984 is one that nobody who saw it can ever forget. I’d love to see a reactor diving into 1980’s UK adventure game show Treasure Hunt. Not many shows like it these days - a relic of the pre-google era but was always incredibly popular - it ran for 9 seasons. The Pilot episode ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/pWmiltqzYMXYj9o.html ) was shot in Indonesia but most episodes were in and around the British Isles. A good way to learn about different parts of the UK/ world.

The guy in the striped shirt was so obnoxious, I loved Come Dine with Me, there was another episode when a host fell asleep and the guests had to cook the meal.

I don't know why but I would LOVE to see you react to the classic British TV comedy sketch "Fork Handles" by The Two Ronnies. Search for "Two Ronnies Fork Handles" on YT, its only a 6 minute sketch so not too long for a video.
