Please continue watching the series of "how it feels to play ___", it's so good, even the "behind the scenes" parts
The game doesn't have skins but does have things like hats and accessories, you also can unlock various weapons that have their own stats although some of them are reskins of some of the weapons.

The beauty of the tf2 cosmetic system is that it basically lets users make their own "skins". The math would be hell to figure out, but there must be tens of thousands of different combinations.

Tf2 has 3 cosmetic slots and way too many hats/cosmetics, meaning you can have a basically infinite amount of combinations. Every class also has alternate weapons each with their own stats, models and gimmicks.

If you are interested in more videos on how the TF2 classes feel to play, definitely watch more of LazyPurple's "How It Feels" series!
One of the most important parts of this series: *please* don't skip the extras and try to do them in their order, they get progressively (and quickly) better, higher quality and more animated.
Do *not* stop the TF2 content. I will not stop recommending you to watch the rest of the trailers and the comic dubs though!

Yes! The comics are great! And I would love to see them react to some Winglet machinima.
PLEASE CONTINUE WATCHING THE REST OF THE "HOW IT FEELS TO PLAY" SERIES! YALL WONT BE DISSAPOINTED!
The portal thing is a reskin of spy zapper (a tool to destroy engineers buildings) the kunai is a unlockable weapon Every class has a stock load out of weapons but you get random drops of new weapons that have different stats or gimmicks that change that class gameplay completely
9:06 “oh he has a shuriken” bro that’s a kunai 💀💀
LazyPurple series "How It Feels To Play X" is really great. It gets you a good notion of how the classes work, his videos are very well done, and are really funny.
i'd suggest you guys watch the other official trailers for the game, ''Mann Vs Machine'' (and Sound of Medicine), End of the line, and Jungle Inferno. there's also a lot of community made SFMs that are great and describe perfectly how the community has been for decades, like Turbulence (2015 winner of saxxy awards) and Team fabulous 2 (made in GMod by a great animator that passed away because of cancer). Keep up the great work, i'd love to see a gameplay by you guys.

You should watch the whole series and if you want more tf2 content i recommend soundsmith's "a mann's guide"
Other people in the comments have mentioned some of this already, but just for a quickie history lesson: TF2 originally started with the nine characters and that was that. Then, when Valve started putting out big-scale updates, they introduced new alternative weapons for some of the characters - for example, the Heavy could swap his secondary shotgun out for a Sandvich, which you could eat for a quick heal (at the cost of standing still while chowing down). Then, even later, they introduced hats, one for each character; they were completely cosmetic, but getting them was entirely random, so having a hat at the time was seen as a bit of a status symbol. As the years went by, more and more alternate weapons started getting created, more and more hats started getting made, and soon Valve opened up to the community itself to come up with neat weapon ideas or funny hats or other cosmetics (which started to include not just hats, but accessories and even whole outfits, like a Hawaiian shirt for Heavy and Engineer). They're not explicitly referred to as 'skins' or anything, but for all intents and purposes, TF2 was the earliest example of those systems in a big multiplayer game. And so, here we are today!
You guys have to keep looking at the how it feels to play series! They're amazing!
I highly recommend checking every "How It FEELS To Play TF2" video he's made. They cover each class except the medic with some classes (including Spy) having bonus/extra videos. His video are really well done and is the reason why I play TF2.
I'm here to explain how Weapons/Cosmetics work. So there are these hats, that people can craft, or buy from the community market, or the steam store. Weapons are kinda in the mix of, reskins, and actual changes. Some weapons change your stats, and stuff like that. While some promotional items, are mainly for cosmetic purposes, basically better looking regular weapons
4:20 Gijin Gooma did a series called witch Ninja where he compares characters to authentic historical ninja and this technique actually checks out with them.
Could I recommend "Meet the Super Scout." it's a fan made animation that uses the character models and is rather entertaining.
holy shit i love your reactions, watch the rest of "How It Feels To Play ..."
Wooooo, thank you so much for this video!! I hoped you'd start watching "How it feels to play X" and I'm happy you started with the Spy (my personal fav)
The game does not have skins. The game has hats. And accessories. It essentially started loot boxes as we know them today

It does have skins tho
Highly recomend you guys watch the rest of the How it feels to play series, including the extra's and behind the scenes ones. They are all so good. Also dont skip his " TF2 is a Timeless Masterpiece" video. It is done in the same style as His how it feels to play series.
The kunai is not a skin is a weapon with different stats, but there are skins in tf2 and the game is infamous about them, the joke that tf2 is a hat game has a reason after all.
8:34 to this DAY i have NEVER noticed how outrageous that "backstab" was on the medic
I definitely recommend watching the rest of the 'How it feels to play ' series its super fun
The game has: 1. Unlockable weapons with different upsides and downsides apart form the Stock weapons you already have when you boot up the game for the first time. 2. Weapon Reskins that are weapons the work in the exact same way as other weapons, the only difference being their model. 3. War paints/Skins That allow you to decorate your weapon by changing it's texture (neither the model or the stats of the weapon change, just the texture) 4. Cosmetic items such as Hats, pants, shirts and all sort of goofy items to put on your character. (I really hope you continue this series and I hope this helped!)
So, at the end of the stabby clip, that electric sound you hear is a Spy with the fake death watch decloaking, meaning that Stabby actually got the upper-hand. ;)
Just want to say that this game does have skins but it also has unlockable weapons for each class with different ups and downs like the Kunai/the ninja knofe which gives you 70 base hp but every kill gives you 200hp that slowly drains back down, there's also lots of hats, individual cosmetics and not just one bundle theme so you can make the most cursed fashion known to gaming.
Game has tons of cosmetics you can mix and match for each character. The game also lets you get different kind of weapons and variants that you can choose and use to make your own loadout
There are skins for some weapons, but TF2 uses modular item systems. There are different weapons for every class with completely different purposes. One loadout can make you a tank while playing a Spy, the other can let you fake your death and go fast, and yet another gives you crits on kills
Love the vids keep it up❤
You should consider watching. [TF2] Weapon Stereotypes! Episode 10: The Spy SoundSmith Despite it talking about stereotypes, it does goes in depth somewhat, the main reason I bring it up, is because Lazypurple doesn't mention anything but the Ambassador. This is so you can know about the different types of equipment that spy can use, though SoundSmith doesn't like the Dead Ringer.
Holy shit you really are going through the LazyPurple series. It's such a good series that we'll demonstrates the gameplay with fun edits and animations.
Each character in tf2 has 3 cosmetic slots, and a primary, secondary and melee weapon slot. You can get different weapons for each slot by playing and other means which are either just an alt skin or have different stats that change how the character plays, for instance the kunai the spy had lowers max health but on successful backstab you gain the amount of health they had. The cosmetics are almost impossible to get as random drops and come in different sections, so hats, outfits, pants, shirt, shoes, gloves, glasses beards, etc
Hats & Miscs are basically one of TF2’s most recognizable features. There’s tons of ways to customize your character, with 4 different slots to save different looks. And there’s tons of weapons for each class with different stats as well! There’s always gonna be a different kind of player in a match at all times Also please continue the TF2 content! This is great!
Yeah I would definitely recommend checking out the rest of “how it feels” series.
3:00 I have actually had a closer situation than that once. I was stuck between 3 walls andd the exit was a reved heavy shooting at where I was. I somehow didn't get hit probably because it was a server with lowered gravity and me being lucky bastard sometimes.
We did it boys, we dragged em down in the rabbit hole.
Nani no Anime watching LazyPurple? Never had I needed something so much, and not realized it until it was handed to me.
DO THE WHOLE PLAYLIST PLEASE
Please watch pootis engage and pootis extreme. It's a strange TF2 video, but I think you'll like watching it. And if you do watch it, make sure to put subtitles on it because the voice lines are a bit confusing/funky.
1:30 the gist of team fortress 2. History: the first game was a mod built off of half life I believe. Then with its popularity valve fully acquire it and made team fortress 2 using the source film making (sfm) program or pretty much garrys mod. Lore: so there existed two twins that have beef with one another. They hired mercs but not enough. So they ended up cloning them so now you have clone Red and clone Blue fighting each other. Gameplay: it’s a class role shooter which overwatch based it off of. By now you know their roles from meet the team videos. The game have drops where if you play you randomly get crates that have items that can be equipped to your characters. Some cosmetic and some provides small buffs. The steam market place allow ppl to sell/trade these.
LET'S GO! LAZYPURPLE REACTIONS, WHOOO!
You guys should watch the weapons stereotypes series for every character to see all the different weapons on each class and what they do
Fun fact: Gaijin Goomba explains why hiding next to an elevated platform works by referencing old shinobi strategies. Humans are naturally inclined to check places big enough for a human to stand behind first rather than smaller hiding spots.
Hell yeah, more LazyPurple love!
is there a video "the most fashionable faction" about the variety of in-game accessories
If you guys like TF2 stuff, I recommend videos by Winglet. They are phenomenally made
LazyPurple: "Spy can't keep up with faster classes." Big Earner: "Am I a joke to you?"
Btw some item like the Kunai is not just a skin it's a complete different weapon that change your class for example the Kunai make your hp 75 (you die in one hit from almost anything) but when you backstab your HP become something like 210 in overheal
Those “skins” 9:17 are weapons that are made to help an class like the shuriken which is a kunai makes the spy whenever he backstabs people help gain a health boost but in order to balance that when you have the kunai it makes the spy have 70 hp than the normal 125hp
Long time Tf2 vet here, Lazy purple's entire series is a must. Also still love playing the game, spy is my main. Certainly think you should check it out!
There still 3 official tf2 video left. Jungle inferno, mann vs machine and I think it was other one was the sound of medicine.
9:22 Well yes but that’s all a combination of cosmetics that includes the game’s many hats and accessories. Regarding the different weapons/gear, these are different things you unlock that have their own stats and gimmicks, case in point for Spy the Conniver's Kunai, which spawns you at very low health but in return it heals you when you land a backstab.
The next video of this series is "How it FEELS to play Scout", do watch it! His videos get better and better!
Nice video!
Lazy purple vids are all great. But besides those I would also recommend watching the other official tf2 videos along with "end of the line" one.
TF2 has multiple weapons for the different classes. every character has a pirmary weapon, a secondary weapon, a melee weapon and for engineer and spy a 4th weapon slot. the different weapons have different stats BUT the stock weapons (the first weapons you get) are in most cases the best options. the kunai that you saw at the end reduces your max HP from 125 to 70 but everytime you backstab someone you drain their health basically meaning you get temporary health up to 210 health (the 3rd most health you can have in the game). also spy's stock revolver (his primary weapon) can't headshot but the ambassador can for exhange of having less dmg and slower firing speed.
I was lazypurple content but I am HERE for it!
Will you be recording your first reactions to playing the game?
There's no traditional skins more like clothing options where you can mix and match certain things to make a "skin" and yes there is pre-sets so those are more like your traditional skins in a way
LazyPurple's videos are amazing
The kunai you saw in the video wasnt a skin, its a separate weapon which essentially makes you gain health whenever you kill someone with it
9:12 That's a reskin for his sapper, the only difference, that it has voicelines, it talks in game.
the weapons you see in the video and what the characters are wearing you can buy or get traded. you can buy the wearables like hats and such and they are separate so you can have over a million different types of outfits. for items tho like weapons and stuff to use in mvm you can earn while playing the game and they have different abilities like making your weapon stronger but slow build-up or throwing a jar of piss at someone.
i'm new to your channel, so i don't know if you ever upload gaming videos, but i would totally love to see you guys play some tf2 after watching all the cinematics and lazypurple's content
Ya'll should watch all of LazyPurple's videos and IF YOU GUYS CAN, find a unedited reupload of his engineer video, its beautiful.
Okay, you guys now *need* to watch "Pootis Engage" and it's sequel "Pootis Engage Extreme" they're funny and also have high effort captions, so it's perfect.
Tf2 do have skins but only for weapons. But you can make all 9 classes have 3 slots of Cosmetics and 6 selectable Taunts AKA Emotes.
You guys oughta watch the Team Neighborhood series; it’s basically a sitcom featuring the TF2 mercs.
Amazing!

this series is amazing
If you guys want another video that is related to spy consider watching "A Mann's Guide to the Big Earner" by SoundSmith. A really funny video that not only focus on humor, but tactics with an unlockable weapon.
TF2 has cosmetics which you can combine to make original "skins" and different weapons with different stats.
We told u guys that lazypurple is awesome I believe he has a video for every tf2 character It's a good way to psych yourself up for the game Even if u don't play it's a lot pf fun
TF2 doesn't have skins, but different cosmetic items that fall into different categories (most notable being hats) Players are given 3 cosmetic slots and 4 loadouts to use.
*pauses video at the start* when you cloak watch out for enemy pyro's
It has a Wheatley skin for the electrosapper
Dang they actuall just relaesed a video after my request
A short video you could watch is "Attack of the Spycrabs"
Yay love Lazypurple
look up Muselk's video trolling people with the Box Trot, a moving taunt for Spy that makes him look like a cardboard box. you'll see how Spy can go invisible in plain sight.

Also, there are different weapons, but you can get them from random drops. You can buy them, but I don't know anyone who actually bought weapons.
the kuni weapon is an actual different weapon, it lowers you max hp but allows spy to steal health from his enemies he backstabs, its one of the highest risk reward items in the game
might wanna check out: Demoknight Team Fortress 2 RETURNS by SolarLight
the way tf2 cosmetics work is that there are things that can be applied to your character, so outfits, hats etc, they are tradeable and shit which is cool so you never actually buy anything from valve, you open loot boxes sold by them if you want something though you can trade with ACTUAL players which is cool af, this has made an economoy and some hats are worth like 10k
You guys should watch Rise of the Epic Scout. Coolest animation for TF2
Glad to see you guys are getting into TF2. Not to write you an essay in a comment here, but there are a few points you may want to know going forward: 1.) LazyPurple's "How it feels to play..." series currently covers 8/9 of the mercenaries. You may want to familiarize yourself with the basics of each character, although their names and equipment tend to be self-explanatory on what their role is. The point of these videos is to capture the essence of what it feels to play each mercenary, and not specifically analyze who they are and how they operate in game. 2.) TF2 is a classic class-based shooter from 2007. There are no character-specific abilities or spells like Valorant/Overwatch. Instead, every character has alternative gear/weapons that change up their playstyle. A big example is how Demoman, a class focused on explosive ranged weaponry, can switch out all of his equipment to become a Demoknight that is completely focused on close combat. 3.) In VALVE's own words, the Spy is "...a puzzle, wrapped in an enigma, shrouded in riddles, lovingly sprinkled with intrigue, express mailed to Mystery, Alaska, and LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU! but it is too late. You're dead. For he is the Spy - globetrotting rogue, lady killer (metaphorically) and mankiller (for real)." As you saw he has the ability to instantly kill enemies if his melee makes contact with the rear of their hitboxes, his primary revolvers have different benefits, he can disguise as any member of the enemy team or his own team, and he can go completely invisible with his various Watches. IIRC "How it feels to play Heavy" will be next, which I think you guys will get a kick out of. How it feels to play Spy was LazyPurple's first entry into what became a series, and it is considerably more terse than latter additions.

I think you should follow this video up with Gaijin Goombah's "Which ninja" episode about the spy before diving further into "How it feels" series. You also may learn the difference between shuriken and kunai there.
More lazypurple! his videos are so good!!!
Honestly, TF2 is perfectly defined as a hat wearing fighting simulator. 9 classes, endless customization for each class as long as you got the money for it. Also don’t forget the large arsenal of guns and weapons each class can use with each unique abilities
