I still can’t get over the fact that this was before chem gate was discovered so all the informs were actually worse than the gold rare cards. For those who don’t know up until the end of fifa 16 all non day one fifa cards only got 5 chem even if it said they were on 10 chem. So literally cards who had informs were worse in game since they didn’t get a chem boost . Just so crazy

I think it was more FIFA 14 and onwards when chem styles were introduced, I can't remember how chem affected players in FIFA 13

Nothing made me happier back in the day than taking a 35-50k team and smashing a team full of team of the year/season squads. We’ll never see that again on fifa 😔

Everyone used the 30k coins russian league skill team with mcgeady, hulk etc lol. no variety at all and lob throughs and near post were broken. Still my fav fifa tho

It’s because the gameplay actually rewarded brain and stick skills. Things like momentum and physics actually mattered. But even FIFA 13 was a step down from 12 which is the GOAT of all FIFA games and one of the GOAT candidates of all time sports games period. Skill gap was at its height back then.

The trade offers are so underrated. I wish that come back in the future to do wagers with my friends

I loved this pack opening. I liked that it felt like it was actual cards being dealt and you were flicking through them. Special cards were actually hard/rare to pack but you could still play with a useable gold team at the end of the game. Hopefully EA tone down the amount of promos we get next year and if you miss a couple of weeks of the game you aren't left behind.

Yeah they ruined the rewards since fifa 19, they focused more on “content” than gameplay for so long that people love the new style where theres several 94+ cards that aren’t useful or irrelevant. The AI takes away the “skill” gap that use to exist in fifas older than fifa 17. I didn’t buy fifa 22 and it honestly doesn’t seem like i missed out based on the content I’ve seen from nic. The only reason I’ll consider getting the next Fifa is because it is cross platform.

They still probably had just as many bugs and exploits as fifas now, and in terms of not only graphics but also content and other things, the past one or two fifas have been better

One of the things is that the games were less competitive. Champs didn't exist. People played just to play football. No real rewards system outside of packs so most people got their coins from playing, buying packs with irl money or buying coins. Obviously people play to win but if they didn't the stakes were a lot less than they are today, you wouldn't be 1 win off potentially securing a next rank and an extra like 250K worth of stuff. Whereas nowadays you get all the pro players and also the 'wannabe' pro players who sit in Elite spamming whatever is meta. AI blocks were also non existant and a skill gap actually existed and was visible, rather than what we get today where you'll only see a skill gap between the best of the best and everyone else. All this being said, yeah people would get sick of the old games now very quickly due to aforementioned lack of rewards and honestly no content since Promos weren't really a prevalent thing.

100% nostalgia , those games were emptyyyyyy like I know it could please some people but the things is fifa was kinda a side game back in the days, people were playing CoD, battlefield etc a looooot and fifa didn't require that much play time, and with no big rewards no sbc you were just facing the same BPL team from like december to august if you were not buying coins. It was nice playing fifa 13 in 2013 but let's be real those games wouldn't work at all today , ea have really stepup in every aspect of the game except maybe gameplay (and even there remember the kick-off glitch, the overpowered crosses, and how broken the skills and the 90+ pace was)
