Just letting everyone know, I've gone & watched the episode properly now and I realise Eren's shorter hairstyle in this episode were just flashbacks. I guess I missed all those parts during filming because I was scanning just for the hair lol.

Thomas search up @KenXyro on twitter shows a more updated eren look. It shows the bun more better and clearer. Also thanks for actually helping the other people achieve the eren man bun look I too am i am 1 years and 5 months growing out my hair anyways hope it helps with erens man bun

When his hair is down in all the clips, it's a flashback from 2 years prior so his hair is shorter than in the present time. edit: I've decided to grow my hair out as well! about a month in and it feels like it's barely growing 😂 but staying consistent! hope all is well :)

tbh the reason I grew my hair out was when man bun eren first appeared in the manga lol, which has been almost 2 yrs now

The chad you have has the required hairstyle of eren's manbun . This anime episode switches between 2 years in past eren(when he had not long enough hair) and the present in jail (in which he has chads length of hair). And the pictures you refer to as manga designs are still not manga designs actually . Its a bit of fan art thats been done there. By the way i hope you make a video of eren man bun guide in which you show us how we can grow hair ( the lenghts to keep and cut) and a section in which you tell us what we should tell our barbers when going for this hairstyle.

I was growing my hair out for almost a year but because of my dumb school rules i had to chop them all off😔 but now i am almost passed out of school so i have started growing out again and seeing you cut your hair almost exactly at the same time gave me motivation like i was depressed all week after the haircut but now i am motivated to grow again

I think of what u did to Chad is cooler and more attractive to see for man bun. I also felt kinda a little bit annoyed why it looked shorter when eren had his long hair.

It looked shorter because it was a flashback from 2 years ago. Eren's current hair length is noticeable in Episode 5 while he is talking with Reiner. Since he got inside the prison cell, he hasn't got out. It's pretty understandable that the Wagon Scene is from the past because Sasha is alive, and currently, she is dead, she died in episode 8.

I really rate your 'Faux' Eren Hairstyle, the fact it's inspired by the anime is exactly why. You've added your own flavour to it and that makes this a way more realistic hairstyle to aim for!

This is where it gets tricky. Because Chads style you did was accurate to a lot of the fan art, however, Erens actual anime-accurate hairstyle is one where most of his hair (including the back) is tied up in a mid-low height bun, and he just has a very small layer of very short hairs dropping down on the very back of his head (almost his neck). So, the layer IS there, it’s just not nearly as large as you previously thought because of how his bun sits and how few hair actually drop down, that aren’t tied up with the rest. What I described is visible if you look at either the official anime character art released by Mappa or the source material (manga) for the sink scene you just saw in the episode, it’ll show the back of his head.

There might be a hundred comments already about this but you can only see the man bun style in the dark or more specific in his cell, because that's the present. Right after they fought the Warhammer titan. His hair is way shorter and different in the daylight scenes since it's a flashback, which happend 2 years ago. He wouldn't be able to do the current bun with that hair. Guess we have to wait another week for the next episode to air.

i heard it’s good to get it trimmed every 6 months, i grew mine out for a year and it was nice but very messy and trimming it keeps the hair growing healthy

Nope, it was just a transition of scenes between Past events and Current events.

I'm almost at 2 years growth and by anybody's standards I have long hair. It's taken longer than I expected and I'm not sure if the growth has slowed down. It is definitely growing because I started dying it a couple of months back and I see the growth in the roots. I've not had any haircuts, my hair is thick, strong, in good condition and there are no split ends. I don't want to loose any length but I wanted to ask, would a trim speed up the growth?
