Don't worry. You'll finish in the last ranks next year too. You'll get your chance to pick a star-forward. In the meanwhile, you can't pass on a draft that is so rich in terms of defense men. You need it too. In a couple of years, you might be happy. Remember Duncan Keith? Seabrook? You didn't need them along with Kane and Toews? Wisdom... wisdom... Plus, if Chicago had drafted Demidov, we, Habs fans, wouldn't be able to celebrate. So thank you for thinking of us. Anyway, you don't even know who Celine is, you don't deserve anything.

Last year, the Habs picked the best RHD (Reinbacher) in the draft because we were weak at that position, that's why we passed on Mitchkov. This year, the Hawks did the same ... RHD are (with centermen) the hardest guys to get ... good ones can only be drafted. Hockey 101: Championship teams are built from the blue line up ... look at Toronto for an example of what not to do.

As an Anaheim fan I wanted Levshunov but that didn't happen. We got Sennecke, which was a big surprise, but very happy Verbeek picked him. Levshunov is going to solidify Chicago's D core moving forward. You guys got a good one.

@@paddakillz2 This wasn't a great draft outside of Macklin. Or at least was a very wide-open draft. Like 2012. (although that ended up being a pretty brutal draft) Take the D now when you have lots to choose from and can pick the one you want instead of best available. 2025 is like all forwards at the top. You aren't finding a #1 D. Get your Bedard running mate that year. Want to turn into the Leafs where all of your core are forwards? Need the Duncan Keith at some point and you're not getting him in 2025 draft. So 2026, and wait 3 years to develop? Meanwhile you're becoming the Buffalo Sabres, how long is Bedard going to stick around?

@paddakillz2 I agree with your take on the Anaheim pick. But remember, a right shot defenceman don't grow on trees. Those guys are a premium. Habs did the right thing last year with Reinbacher.Detroit did the same thing with Seider. They need strength both left and right side. Chicago needed defenceman on both sides as well. They will get better as time goes.

Worse thing that could of happened was Demidov to Habs , their fans are already insufferable flooding every Nhl video and forum and that was even before the pick. I saw this happen live was on hfb main board and 5min after the Demidov pick the whole first 3 pages of threads were all Hab and Demidov topics. It's like 99% of their fanbase gets paid to comment online , it's so odd.

Dude ..Demidov was picked FIFTH..so that kind of debunks your myth of him being this stud player. We need defensemen and We got the best defenseman in the draft... They can obtain offensive help for Bedard through free agency signings.
