Reach MORE Frets Instantly Using this SIMPLE Trick (any hand size)

Now that your hands are hitting notes you previously thought impossible, let’s up your game and maximize your practice sessions with this superhot FREE Practice Cheat Sheet!
📙 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝘆: www.guitarmasterymethod.com/c...
If you think your tiny hands are a hindrance and a curse, then think again!
Because I’ve got the ultimate in quick, quiet hand exercises that’ll have your fretting hand hitting notes you previously thought out of reach.
And the best part? It’s mostly silent! You can park up on the couch playing this exercise next to your spouse while you both watch Netflix, and they won’t hear a thing!
The key element to this exercise is adding a new range of motion and elasticity to your fretting hand.
But we also need to take some of your limiting self beliefs, like “my hands are too small” and “I’ll never reach those notes!” and kick them to the curb, asap.
I used to have a similar belief when I first started playing guitar. I thought my hands would only play the 4 frets I could reach at the time.
But I’m telling you, IF you put the work in, you will see massive, life altering results.
This exercise is simple, fun and guaranteed to get your hands stretching. Play this every day for a few minutes before you kick into your other songs and within a week you’ll notice the difference.
And all of a sudden, those small hands of yours are hitting frets and easily playing solos you didn’t think possible.
Enjoy!

This exercise is so useful, I started doing it almost 2 years ago, and now my pinky can reach to the store and bring back some snacks while the rest of my fingers keep playing.
Thank you. Just starting to try and learn at 60 and appreciate all the help I can find. Cheers...

Gosh, you can play the whole fretboard with your hand in the first position. Respect.
56 years old with Arthritis. Doc says “play that guitar “. So I’m doing it. Starting all over learning the basics. I have such a beautiful Blueridge BG-2500 Jumbo so I just hate seeing it sit there in the case. Here I go!

I do this for a minute at least 5 times a day...just another benefit of being a GMM member...learned this from Eddie a long time ago...great exercise and it works!
struggling with a 6 fret stretch on Mister Sandman. Literally practiced this for a minute and INSTANT progress! Probs first time a guitar drill worked that fast!!

I totally agree with your suggestion about sitting position. I believe every learning guitar player should be taught to hold their guitar (electric or acoustic) in "classical" position while sitting. Not just for finger stretching but also for health reasons; that position puts less strain on your muscles and nerves in your wrist and forearm. They will appreciate that lesson many years later ;)

I went to a guitar store and mentioned that I wanted to play my electric this way. The employee heckled me asking me why the heck I would want to do that… safe to say I bought my guitar elsewhere.
It does physically matter if you have a shorter than normal pinky like I do. Mine is approx 10mm shorter than most, including yours. This is about a fret less than you can reach but I'll persist and let you know. Apparantly size does matter 🙂

@@virid6819 The benefits of having the guitar sit higher on your body is important as your wrist is straighter with your hand to assist the stretches I think. Regardless of pinky size, the straighter wrist will benefit everyone. Thanks for asking 🙂

Have you ever seen Segovia’s fingers ? They are sausages. Watching him and grinding out practical exercises like this gives me hope.
I was delighted to notice progress during ten minutes of practice. My fretting hand pinky progressed from the middle of the eighth space to the eighth fret itself. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I was so sad and frustrated with my little stubby fingers. You have given me hope! :)
Oh wow, this helped a ton! Thank you!!
Really good stuff here. This is part of my practice routine now. Thank you!
Wow Eddie Great Lesson, at the beginning of your video my pinky stretched from 7th to 8th fret & by the time your 6 min video had finished I did what you explained & I can now stretch my pinky from the 7th to 12th fret.
I cant even get beyond 3 frets LOL, i got small hands (short fingers), carpal tunnel, i have hypermobility in my fingers, ANDDDD I'm a beginner too, the worst combo to have but, this helped me out a lot! My pinky kinda hurts but I got past the fourth fret and super close to the fifth fret before my finger hurt too much to continue. Thank you so much for making this video!
I love your videos man! Keep em coming!
Can’t wait to try this!!

ive been playing the guitar for a few years, thought i was getting pretty good until i tried playing some 12 bar blues and i couldn't stretch my fingers to reach the finger on add on notes... so this helped thanks
Thanks for this method in 3 days I went from only being able to do 5 to 9 barely to 5 to 12
This helped!!!! I’m trying to play Si Supieras by Estabon Armando y Dannylux and the chords stretch to at least five frets
i've been training an Ichika Nito's song (Orb), and that beatiful man just makes a chord stretching from 8th fret with the low E to the 15th fret high E. I was almost sure that the man has a hand of Golias, but after a few hours of this exercise i could (hardly) get my pinky from the 14th to the 15th fret. Still a lot to go throught to make it sound clean tho. Thanks for the help! This exercise is really helping a bunch
Im already a pianist with quite large hands, and i could barely do 4 frets with classical guitar. Now, im comfortablely doing 6 frets and doing 7 if i really stretch out those fingers to the absolute max. Has been working for a few days now.
Your a legend bro, thank you for the video. Been struggling with this, your a Rockstar 🍻
I have tiny baby hands. Hoping this'll help me reach more frets. Thanks for the tip, anything that's a gradual process seems believable to me, there are no shortcuts any guitar guru can give me so I trust someone who tells me it's all in the practice I do.

This is a great tip. My thumbs keeps slipping from the neck the farther I go though and I don't know if it's bad or good. Should I keep pushing it or stay in a comfort level.
Thanks. I had hand surgery about 20 years ago and my stretch is limited. Cannot reach 4 frets. But you video is an encouragement. I play classical.

I see these little kids shredding the classical guitar and making crazy shapes and stretches so I have no room to complain 😂
i can't even stretch the first example you showed, i can in front of me very wide, but on the guitar with my hand shaped under the neck i simply cannot move the fingers to the next frets., and this past spring breaking my wrist and it affecting my thumb, it's even a bit more challenging, hope this video helps. and actually on the lower strings 6,5,4 i'm ok, it's when i get higher on the neck, the 1,2, and 3rd
This will help to play Once Bitten Twice Shy!
thanks coach stay dope

2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eddie! Don’t forget about finger warm up and stretching as taught in your amazing course. You guys rock🏁
Do I do this with the other fingers to? Or just the pinkie
Can you apply practice this to the other fingers ?
I have large enough hands to palm a basketball, but also have other factors against me. As I approach 60, instead of just doing chords like I've done all my live, I've decided to start working on mastering runs up and down the fretboard. Unfortunately, I've had injuries to all my fingers on my left hand with multiple surgeries. This has limited my ability to stretch out across frets, neutralizing the advantage of larger hands. Still, I think doing these stretches will help. It's probably going to take me 10 times longer because of age and injuries, but I'm determined to do lightning fast runs like 1 3 5 across all my strings. Thanks for the exerrcise ideas!

Be grateful you have large hands to begin with. I have small child hands and short fingers. I’m over 65 and I’ve had a broken finger and arthritis in my hands … …man, trying to get back into guitar after a 40 year hiatus is hard! My fingers are so stiff that it’s discouraging. But I do remember practice makes perfect. Oh how I wish I had those nimble 20 year old fingers again. I was studying Blues scales before I had to stop because of a cross-country move all those years ago. It’s like you have to develop a whole new mindset with the limitation’s. I remind myself of the guitar players with missing fingers. Where there’s a will, there’s a way! 40 years later, it’s like starting over from scratch, only harder.
By having my thumb on the upper back I only have two segments of my fingers left. I can reach frets out but yeah I have baby hands. The necks width is the full length of my hands
Should I be only doing this with my pinky or other fingers as well?
Going to start today. Trying to learn Run Run Rudolph by Chuck Berry. Having trouble reaching two frets f5 f6 chords.

You can do it!
Came looking for this so i can do a 5 fret stretch for the power rangers theme tapping part
Can I do this with my finger next to my pinky? I have issues with stretching this one too
I do this on my steering wheel to and from work 🎸🤟🍻
So im missing about 3/4 inch on my freting thumb, cut it off years ago. It doesn't seem like a hindrance, but it cranks my wrist. I know its an uncommon probably but any advice? Please
Ok, so how do I get my pinky to the E string on Am/G without mutin my A string? I hate not being able to form all the needed positions to learn a whole song. That's the one I cannot play on dust in the wind.
I can get a fairly good stretch of my fingers unfortunately my pinky is 1 inch shorter than my ring finger and that makes it rough for some stuff. Thanks for the tip
@toddsutton5672

exactly and i have short finger to begin with. this guy has giant hands clueless. i cant reach the low E with my thumb.
Can it ruin fingers? I hear my joints cracking and stiff 😮😮
Great! Thx! And… your fingers looks like a spider when you are showing it 👍😄
How tight should guitar strings be?
how long do i do this to finally get finished results? or does it depend on the person or something??
@GuitarMasteryMethod
Жыл бұрын
It definitely depends on the individual. But just stick with it and you'll definitely get the results :)
3rd week and till string 6
i can reach from second fret to sixth yay
I've got the opposite problem :(. I've got wicked stretch abilities but an 5 string A major shape barre chord is my nemesis. I usually leave off the "cheesecutter" e string and catch the rest with one finger past the barre 😂
I cant even get into the starting position, seems like im just not meant for the guitar... 🙁
Doing this as a beginner on 11 gauge strings with high action :)
Does your thumb need to stay absolutely still or can I walk it across the neck too?
@tracymatherson8174

Your thumb moves along with your fingers. Try to keep the tension on it as light as possible so you won’t injure it .

My biggest problem atm is this little voice in my head always telling me all fingers must be paralel. As we see in your video is your index finger not paralel and that's the fact I can't come across atm. :(

Is it normal that your dominant hand, in this case my picking hand, is usually more stretchy than my non-dominant hand?
