It is not a Ryzen chip they are sending to you, its actually an APU based on the older Bulldozer architecture that released with the A320/B350/X370 which retails at about 50 bucks. It's a very slow dual core, so nothing worth keeping

They will send you a crappy A6 APU to flash the BIOS. After you are done, they want it back (understandable, even if it's only a $50 CPU they are not going to give it away for free), but they let you keep the cooler to save shipping costs.

AH SEU VOU This _just_ came out. What if MS ever decides to change this, seriously underprioritize future development and optimization, break it in one of their millions of updates and not fix it for 6 months - or even cease support all-together? Would seem rather foolish by AMD not to have have options. And lets be very real here. Windows 10 is _NOT_ the only OS going around. Acording to the Steam harware survey, an imperfect but very reasonable metric for what people are gaming on - _less than 1/4 of people even use Windows 10 for gaming._ Almost 3/4s of people use Windows 7 for gaming. Its currently the predominant (gaming) OS platform of choice BY FAR, and its safe to assume a _very_ significant portion of those installs were made long after the release of both win8(.1) and win10. AMD knows this very well, consumer patterns and developments aren't always in sync with Microsofts' wishes, and needs a way to work around MS limitations. How much resources is Microsoft currently dedicating to optimizing (dynamic VRAM allocation) for new hardware on win 7.1? Oh, support ended over 3 years ago you say? What about windows 8(.1) then? No? Support ended for that too? What about former iterations of Windows 10 Home? Surely thos... what?? - end of service for anything older than Fall Creators update/version next month?? Well, crap. If only AMD had seen things like this coming, and put in place options to keep that ball in their own court...

If you only have 8gb ram you aren't using much then anyways and will not matter. Windows and office can be used with 4gb ram with 2 more to spare in this argument. 2g setting is fine for home and most office use. Gaming for sure! but no one is using anything out there that will gobble up 6gb ram without video usage unless they are audio/video enthusiasts in which case they should be at 16/32 regardless

If you check Hardware Unboxed video on the RAM allocation to GPU, you can see that it makes no difference if you allocate 64Mb or 2GB, since its esentially same RAM. Once you go over it, GPU will simply use more "RAM" rather than its allocated "VRAM", But in this case its all the same memorry. You should always use like 512MB, so you re not stripping your system from those 2GB "VRAM" which you cant use anymore, once allocated to GPU; even when not gaming, And considering this is fairly budget solution, most systems will have only 8GB system memorry.

Hardware Unboxed overlooked some important points. One of the most important things is that Windows scales its RAM usage based on available RAM. If Windows is using all your extra RAM then when your graphics API checks for available memory, it will decide there isn't enough and use your HDD/SSD instead. If I remember right, Steve tested with 16GB of RAM, so he wasn't at risk of running out. Users of these APU's are more likely to only have 8GB, and a fresh install of Windows is going to be using less RAM than a used system.

It matters in Gears of War. So doesn't work for all games at the moment. Just more of your typical teething issues. Just know that if your game's not starting, or something odd like that which shouldn't be related to like a bad OC, to try and allocate more memory to the GPU to see if that fixes the issue.

Let me explain, RAM is split virtually and although you have for example 8GB of it and you set it to 64MB, a lot of games won't run as they won't be able to determine how much VRAM they can get, but if you preset it to 2GB most games will see hey there's quite a lot VRAM available for this GPU, it must be able to run me

Yes, Hardware Unboxed showed that allocating more memory is actually detrimental because the gpu gets what it needs anyway and by allocating more memory you're taking memory from the main system and giving it to the gpu that might actually not need that much

You're comparing apple to oranges. You need to compare this APU against what is available from Intel because they are the only other option when it comes to imbedded graphics with a CPU. And in that comparison, these new AMD APUs blow anything comparable from Intel. To spend $100 or $120 for both the GPU and CPU and play some of these games at 1080P is pretty amazing.

There's a great side by side test on KZread. Basically dual channel 8gb at 3000mhz vs 2400mhz and 2000mhz. Across many games, it roughly averaged out to a 3-4FPS boost at each increment. Should be fairly easy to overclock from 2666 to 3000 also. Trouble is that ram is so hideously expensive currently, which offsets the benefit of these excellent APUs.

Guys pls don't allocate 2gb to GPU if you have 8 gigs of ram Set it to 64mb because if you allocate 2g that means 2gb is always allocated to GPU and you would have only 6gb to use. If you set it to 64mb you will almost have 8gb of ram to use at all time and when playing games once 64mb is full GPU will start to use ram which is the same memory so performance will be the same (+-2-3%)

It doesn't matter what the Vram allocation amount defaults to. If it needs more, it'll just use system memory, and as it's the same stuff, it makes no difference at all. In fact, you should probably manually set your Vram as low as it'll go in the BIOS. However much you allocate to be Vram can no longer be used as system memory in other tasks that might use a lot of it. But if you set you vram to, say, 64mb or however low it will go, then it has very little impact on how much is available to be used by the system in general, in other non GPU intensive tasks. And as said before, the integrated GPU will just take however much more it needs during gaming, from the system memory anyway, so it makes absolutely no difference for GPU intensive tasks, at all.

Since you are using system RAM for the graphics processor, what difference would the dedicated vram option actually made on fps performance? I would think your best setting would be to restrict the vram to the minimum to satisfy your games minimum requirements, then let the vram swap with the rest of system ram as required to handle models, textures, etc. larger than will fit in dedicated vram. There should be no difference in performance reading from dedicated vram on system memory vs system memory. By restricting the ram available to the rest of your system with a larger than necessary vmra allocation,, wouldn't you be reducing your performance of everything else by forcing windows to page to some other storage device? Can you get benchmarks with different vram options and see what actually happens?

Hardware unboxed did video on that topic. Shortly : going from 64 mb to 2 gb vram didnt affect gaming performance . Win 10 automatically allocates system memory to gpu if needed. But, raising allocated gpu ram to 2 gb could potentially lower gaming performance if system is lacking memory.

To be honest I recently bought 2200g and... I do not see a Relive tab in Radeon Settings and also I do not see Enhanced Sync option available. So either I have something misconfigured on my system or the current version of drivers simply does not support Relive and Enhanced Sync. Do you guys have any thoughts what can be the reason for that on my rig?

U could get a GTX 1060 6gb for 200€ ... And RAM was costing arround 40€ .... I think the best moment of building a PC was between 2017/2 and 2017/7 .... AMD can do it, I don't own Xbox One X, but imagine if Microsoft would have decided to go with Ryzen 1700 3GHz for the APU. If the majority of PC Gamers would send a lot of messages to AMD so they can see there's a demand, AMD would do it. The Jaguar CPU in the Xbox One X APU is what sucks.

  • @FaSMaN

    @FaSMaN

    6 жыл бұрын

The price is very much a different topic entirely , that's why when you do benchmarks of let's say the 1060 , you will list the 1080s and the 1050s benchmark, along with the equivalent cards from AMD scores for the reader/viewer to see if it's a good value in comparison, how big is the jump in performance, how much would you use if you go for something smaller. Jayz could have easily spent the 60 minutes and added the benchmarks of the first gen Ryzen 3,5 with a 1030 to compare with because that was the cheapest "buy in" a few months ago. Because it's not shown here, you need to now stop, go to a different website or video to go find out how it compares , so I will stick to what I said , completely useless just to have one benchmark, and chances are it's invalid because it was done months ago with immature drivers.

You're missing the point that you're not supposed to compare "integrated graphics" with a full fledged gpu. Mostly because you're not looking at a gpu anymore lol. Anybody with half a brain already knows it blows anything Intel has out of the water so there isn't anything else worth comparing it to besides itself.
