Absolutely, language loss is just as real as language acquisition. I used to be fluent in Greek as a child, but my parents stopped speaking it because I was developing an accent. Now I can't speak it for the life of me.

Yeah isn't it so wild? I feel lucky that most of it is just very deep down in the archives of my memory but at one point my french used to be better than my native language (dutch) and now it takes so much effort to find the right words for things 😅
I studied French for 4 years in high school and retained just enough after graduating college to talk myself out of getting arrested in Paris.
I am speechless at how more extraordinary you seem to get. Eloquently enchanting and Exquisitely classy 🙏
