Plus using gameplay to be "like a pre-rendered cutscene" is just a flex by devs on how good the game looks and plays. No need for lengthy cutscene editing, just tell your AI to grab things, put things down, do things around the world and record the best looking one. The game is already made so good and detailed, that anything looks like a pre rendered cutscene... Just moving forward looks like a cutscene in RDR2! 😂

In game cutscenes are not "always better." RDR2 has a format not like the average game. They put hundreds and millions into this which most game devs dont have. Maybe for Rockstar, in game cutscenes are better

If you ride past it slow enough on the road going into this cinematic, it will follow you into the scene. It spawns just outside the gate to the ranch. I did it just to see. There are other places this can happen. I got mauled by a grizzly during a cutscene because I trailed too close to it.

In RDR1 there was a spot along the road near Beechers Hope where a cougar would spawn pretty much every 5 minutes whether you wanted it to or not, so these maulings are 100% canon.

It's my personal headcanon that all cougars hate John Marsten specifically on an instinctual level. Only way to explain why he was so often attacked by those bastards.

Omg that game was full of spots where animals would spawn every 20secs or so. Had a nice spot where wolves would spawn continuously. You think you killed them all but they would just spawn while you were harvesting them (': Endless amounts of dead wolves around you at some point. Great source of income!

Well with how he got hounded as well in the RDR2 tutorial by wolves in the mountain, maybe other wild predators might hate him as well

I’m hoping it’s a throwback because when I first got to Beecher’s Hope in RDR2 there was a cougar at the gate waiting for me. It brought back some real PTSD

He pushes open the door, accepting his fate, only for a giant cougar to jump onto the lawmen, brutally chewing them to pieces as John mows down the rest. Conclusion: the universe where John is a cat person is the universe where he lives.

1:14 A serene, partly cloudy sky at sundown. John screaming in pain as he is viciously mauled by a cougar off-screen. Doesn't get any better than that.

Love how the music doesn’t stop, even when he’s being mauled. Also, love how he just holds a big beam of wood at the end of it with one hand

Why does the cougar have the best comedic timing I've ever seen

That "Augh!" during the long shot at 1:14 is golden.

What a kind cougar, always giving big hugs to his friend John for moral support as he takes on this construction project.

I loved the camera panning out to scenery with the cougar shrieking in the background lol.
