Avery Brooks commands the stage with demanding charisma and unparalleled gentlemenliness. His wisdom seems endless. That he has his back turned to the moderator is symbolic - this isn't a conversation; its the Avery Show and you must watch it. I could listen to and watch him speak for hours on end.
Brooks, " the reason I am an here is because of all those who came before me, James Balwin called it the price of the ticket" Deep wisdom from the man who been there.
So sad that he didn't play in more TV shows and movies or making another music CD. He's a briliant, beautiful, dynamic, cultured man. I could hear him speak and sing for ever!

To be fair, he was also a professor. So maybe he was more interested in educating than being more famous.

@@SourRobo8364 Oh definitely he was always more on teaching, music and theater (I still can't forgive my self that I miss he's apperance in Greece on a modern take of an ancien tradegy about 20 years ago. I'm so stupid). He never wanted to be longtimer on tv. It was a miracle that we had him on DS9! My "complaint" is because I live in the other side of the world and I never had (or ever will have) the luck to see more of his great talent. Adore him anyways thow :)
I’m convinced this man is a prophet and so many people don’t recognize it The lives he has lived has been infinite and yet he still lives on to receive more wisdom. He really did visit the Bajoran Wormhole… 🤯🤯🤯🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Alamoran if you can see
Once he starts speaking people are literally stunned into silence and are happy to sit in silence with him waiting to hear what he’ll say next.
Avery has always been fine for me. I still loved him when he played Hawk. Still watching in 2020.

Which is incredibly obnoxious. Since he’s assuming a lesson is needed.
Such an inspiration, I wish I could just sit and listen to everything he says for hours.

I know what you mean and I completely agree I met at a Harlem nite club called Showmans a real nice guy very personable and approachable not stand offish like actors of his stature could bee....My idol 🙂
The Sisko has spoken.
God i wish they let him sing more often on DS9 than just that one (utterly fantastic) duet with Vic Fontaine

Well, he did that little diddy with Odo that time in his office. Lol. DS9 THE BEST TREK EVER!!!
I would love for Avery to do some voice acting.
What a beautiful soul. We are privileged to live in a time we can share with him.
He ignored some legit questions but the man never stops teaching, as it should be. 👍
Avery is a leader this interviewer is a chump this is witness of someone who can take charge and give a word of wisdom and intelligence even though he's around someone who's intimidated by him when someone is intimidated by you they can't exist they are useless❤️❤️
I always wanted to meet Avery. He is such a great actor and human being.
The Sisko has not aged at all... except for his beard turning white a little bit...
This is great
8:40 gave me CHILLS
I like you so much, dear Avery.
I love that he speaks to all of us with such charisma as if he's still the Emissary to the prophets
Far beyond the stars was my favorite episode and just saw it for the first time. It allowed the actors to show themselves to us giving the essence of what StarTrek is about. 👍😎❤️
Avery is in command and is always including the audience in opening up insight conversation. So he stays with his mission to make the World a better place. He includes the idea of responsibility in his interviews and the idea we are connected even when we aren’t in the presence of each other we create each other. 👍😎❤️

You have to feel for the for the "interviewer." How do you keep up with someone who is on that level?
I would love to have Benny Russel's apartment.
Wow wow wow
I like him but he is really really out there.
