Modified, customized and upgraded "Mojave Trailfinder 2 LWB" by RC4WD.
- Front grill by Tamiya (doesn't fit, has to be customized)
- Hardtop by RC4WD but shortened
- ESC Castle Creations Mambo Micro X with by remote adjustable Hill Brake
- Motor is sensored brushless LRP X20 with 21 turns
- Steering servo Savöx SW-1210SG
- Geardrive with customized clutch for less tolerance
- Animated steering wheel (2 1/2 turns per direction)
- Animated gear shift lever for 1st, 2nd and reverse gear and typical stick shaking between shifts
- Custom wheel adopters for 4mm reduced width
- Lower foglights are retractable for increased slope angle
- White LEDs with overall power of 21 Watts :-)
- Lighting and animations are controlled by Arduino
- Remote controller FlySky GT3B hacked up to 8 channels

So cool that the driver can actually move w/ the steering wheel and gear shifts and everything. Even the front foglights also flip up and down. A lot of mod has been done to this rig. Nice work!

Die Steuerung über den Arduino, das Lenkrad und der Schalthebel, die ausfahrbaren Nebelscheinwerfer und die extra starken LEDs - einfach spitze! Nach dem Video habe ich dann auch sogleich angefangen den Thread im Forum zu lesen - einfach fantastisch dieser Einsatz Ihrerseits, ein solches Modell zu bauen.

The flipping fog lights are done with a bowden, pls. check this out: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f6aOlLtpo8afqtI.html The rotating steering wheel was much more difficult as there is not enough space behind the dashboard for a servo. As I wanted more than the typical 60° I used a sail servo, mounted parallel to the dashboard with deflection gears. The more videos of these things I watch the more I really wanna get involved and buy a truck of my own. Anyone who sees this who can point in the direction of the best spot to order from and what to look for that would greatly appreciated...

No it's any original Japanese car's 80's blue metalic - but I don't know which one anymore... so it's professional car paint. Tried o mix this color from Tamiya assortment, painted it, finished it and at the end both Tamiya coulors didn't become friends and it's end was a disaster 🙄

Ich glaube der Dachträger ist von RCMODELEX, gibt es also leider nicht mehr. @@stefanraifschneider8474 Der Luxi wiegt 6,5kg, die roten Federn würden das nicht lange mitmachen. Es sind die Standardfedern verbaut, aber nur eine Lage. Lenkrad- und Schalthebel Animatronik sind selbst gebaut. Klick dich mal in Ruhe durch den Baubericht. Da gibt es viele Fotos und alles wird ausführlich erklärt….
Any further information on the gear animation? I cant read German.

Hi Dallin, an Arduino reads the signals of forward/reverse and shift channel. It controls two tiny servos for the x/y moves of the stick. Anything in between is software. because it's possible :-) just good to lighten up the terrain in front of the wheels (rock lights) and to save the lights for obstacles

You mean the rear part? It's custom made from RC4WD canopy. The body you get at any rc-hobbyshop.

Gear shift: Arduiono reads CH2 forward/reverse and CH3 1st/2nd gear. A program controls two servos via PWM signal. One servo for horizontal movement and a 2nd servo for vertical movement. Check the built report (link in description box) for pictures. The steering wheel is realized with a sailing servo mounted behind the glove box. A skew toothed gearbox (self made) transfers the turning movement to the steering wheel. The servo is simply connected in parallel to CH1 (steering servo). So it's a 100% mechanical solution.
