RC3 Roundtable W/ VP of Suppressors | PART II

Спорт

I sit down with Barry Dueck - Vice President, Suppressors & Weapons at SureFire, and Instructor Matt Pranka - XRAY ALPHA. We dive deeper into the science behind the ‪@SureFireLLC‬ RC3. Hearing from some of the industry's best about their experience with the new suppressor is fantastic.

Can’t wait to see the PewScience data on it. All companies are going to say their stuff is the best. saying they have the best low back pressure can is only words till there is true 3rd party lab testing.

Me too. Data doesn’t lie. I will say at this point I’m impartial to how quiet a short barreled 556 is. I care more about how much gas I’m eating and the tone of the shot.

@@hunter-constantine definitely! That’s another cool thing about the PewScience data. The PewScience ear number is dependent on the amount of back pressure the can is causing and how it’s affecting the kinematics of the weapon and how soon the bolt is unlocking.

High Performance Computing services cost on average ~$0.25 per core hour to rent. Dude said they spend "millions and millions" of development hours using Sandia's machine (US Taxpayer owned) which has >140K cores. Assuming "millions and millions" is ~4 million core hours, the machine rental would have cost Surefire $1M+. Unless Surefire paid the entire bill themselves, they need to lower the price of these cans as the US taxpayer likely subsidized their development 🙂
