In some cases when you bind a second receiver it may unbind the first. In that case bind BOTH receivers at the same time. Here is how you bind. 1. Turn off transmitter 2. Plug bind plug into receiver bind port and power up receiver. Red light on receiver will be flashing fast. 3. Hold bind button on transmitter on and power it up while holding button down. 4. Red light on receiver will go from fast flash to slow flash when bound. 5. Unplug bind plug from receiver - leave the power on. Red receiver light will go solid red. 6. Turn everything off and then turn back on - receiver(s) will be bound.

Hi Bob, I'm getting ready to build the trailer with a 2nd receiver. With many tries, I was able to get 2 FS-iA6 to my FS-i6 firmware 2.0. The key was to bind both, as you mention, and once the red LEDs blinked slowly, I pulled both binding connectors at the same time. It worked like a charm.

Yes! I needed to do it this way to work the gooseneck on my Hemmtt trailer.

Yes, and another advantage is you can run servos or speed controls on the trailer so for example a dump bed trailer would be easy.

I truly appreciate your videos I had bought a blue tooth light setup for my King Hauler fuel trailer and it would never work correct, the setup was 7 pages long, that with the electric trailer dolly legs left very little room to mount the kit. This video had me trashing the complicated blue tooth setup that never worked right and using the second receiver which was very inexpensive. Thank you for this video and the video showing how to set a non attack 4 radio up for my King Hauler and fuel tanker truck. You are very clear and concise with your explanations of how to set things up, this is really important to me, I spent 3 weeks on a ventilator in 2017 with a serious illness that had me hospitalized from July 14th 2017 until November 22 of 2017. I am still recovering memory function now in October 2021 I lost a lot of knowledge I had before the illness, your videos have helped me a lot. Now I just need to find someone who does as well as you at presenting things where I will be able to relearn setting up and tuning my racing drones and my camera drones. Anyway I just wanted to thank you for your videos, they are really helping me with setting up the trucks and trailers I had bought before 2017 and would not start building because of the cognitive losses after 2017’s illness. Your videos on the Freightliner Evo was outstanding!!

FYI, I just attempted this with a flysky is6/fs-ia6b receiver (on the truck) and a flysky fsa3 3 channel receiver (receiver is a little funky, you have to bind it using the aux power channel, not channel 3 as it suggests) for the trailer lights and it worked perfectly. I think the FSa3's run about 6 or 7 bucks. Makes this option even more cost efficient. Wish I'd have seen this before I purchased the Tamiya trailer light kit haha. Additionally, I used power from the "motorized support leg" kit, spliced in with a JST to power the receiver...thank you for all of the informative videos!

The "b" receivers will not work as far as I know. Only the "a" 6 channel receivers. You must bind both at the same time. Don't know about the transmitter.

I wanted to make my own grand hauler, but it seems that the kit doesnt have a reciever and radio you got a tip for me to start out

I ended up getting a couple of those light kits and I didn't like them there are no always-on rear lights and the turn signal housing is 5 mm and the l.e.d. is 3mm and I tried using 1 of the 5 mm lights in the turn signal plug and it would not power it. all I want is turn signals and brake lights since I can make my own always-on headlights and roof lights and use a third channel switch to control them.

Will the same thing work with the radio link transmitter

Going to try and bind a six channel for the trailer because I have it laying around with the ten channel that's in my truck 🤔 hopefully it works

Hi So could you put the second binded receiver in a second truck so you could have 2 trucks linked together with a pole so it's like heavy haulage where its double headed or a the back of the load

Probably but I can think of a lot of other reason that would not work. For example when you steer the lead truck the second truck would turn just as much. Also the throttles might fight each other.

Hi. I am not new the the RC world but am new to the Tamiya semi trucks. Wife and kids got me a Knight Hauler for Christmas. These light controllers you use are nice because you can turn the headlights on and off from the radio. I do not see an actual taillight though. Brakes yes, but I am not seeing those bulbs stay on at maybe 50% for a taillight. Is there anything you could recommend to do for an actual taillight? Thank you.

You could probably add 2 bulbs to one lens to get the effect you want. There are units that do what you are describing but the cost goes up quickly.

The 10 channel receivers will not work - only the 6 channel. You must bind the at the same time.

Hi bob. Sorry to bother you but i recently finished my first tamiya truck. A mercedes 3363, i also have a mfc-03. Oh and a flysky raido. The trouble im having is all my lights work on the control unit on the truck but not on the raido. I can only turn the horn and emergency blinkers on with the raido. Any info would be much appreciated. P.S love the video, it was your video's that convinced me to get into the hobby and i love it thanks 👍

You are correct, they are not exactly in sync but really hard to notice when the trailer is hooked to the truck.

Thanks for the heads up on the second Rx for lighting,but,and it's an annoying one,how do you get the hazard flashing lights to function at the same time as the trucks? Any help would be great as I'm close to loosing it!!!

I beleive that you can only bind 2 receivers that do not have telemetry i.e. the Flysky FS-IA6 6Channel Rx. The IA6B and the 10 ch Rx's have telemetry

The 2 receiver setup probably can't handle what you are trying to do. You need to go to a more sophisticated system and more channels. Something like the Beier system and bluetooth trailer module.

Binding 2 receivers to the FS series radios only works with the i6a receivers.

Would not work with my fly sky fs-i6x receiver’s! When I bind 2nd receiver, would unbind the first receiver! Any recommendations?

Good evening everyone Question concerning the binding of two receptors. I have a Flysky I6S radio and two FS-IA10B receivers. I followed the bindind procedure at the same time established by Bob You can't do both at the same time with the I6S. Do I have to try with one 10-channel receiver and the other 6-channel? Has anyone successfully completed the procedure with a Flysky I6S radio?

Can I hook up the motorized legs to the wireless system and utilize the battery pack.

Sure could. In fact a great use for it. You could use a 3 way electronic switch or just hook a servo to the Tamiya 3 way switch.

hi. i am a novice for this. i am trying to get my first radio system. i noticed that aliexpress or amazon doesn't seem to sell the left throttle moded fs-i6x with fs-iA6 but with fs-iA6B. just by looking at the pictures, i cannot be sure if fs-iA6B is just as good as FS-iA6. please let me know. much appreciated.

Hi Bob ! I got Flysky FS-I6X tried receivers fs-ia6 after trying with fs-ia10b receivers, But still can’t get them to bind together! Got them to slow flash together, Pull binds at same time but only 1 goes solid other slow flash! Can you help me with this Please? Or does it not work with fs-i6x transmitter? Works with the FS-i6x transmitter but not the receivers you mentioned. Only works with 2 of the iA6 receivers.

It only works if you use 2 of the ia6 6channel receivers. It will not work with the 10 channel receivers.

I usually use 4 AA batteries. Traxxas makes a great battery holder with an on/off switch. You can run then on 4-5 NIMH cells also.

Two things...you say the TX is modified...how and why. Also there wouldnt be a lot of room in some trailers for this set up although I do like it..

No, that is the only downfall tp setting up the lights this way. Generally I figure most folks won't even notice.

I have not tried that receiver but try binding both at the same time. If that does not work you may need the 6 channel receivers.
