My Hobby store is getting some of the selected parts in for me. I am getting the DX5 at a sale price, and the dual start charger. This is a great video I went with a MMX 8s paired up with an 1800kv Posioden motor and it’s clocking over 78mph on a 23t pinion stock spur set up I love my K8s it’s a beast for sure

Nice run there Vas🔥 I have almost the exact same setup with 800kv 34pinion/39spool gearing on my O8S, also advised from Rich.... She is a blast, but I'm probably a little off your speed because I'm still on the stock ESC, which is quite good after the update but Max5 I'm sure would get me maybe 3-5mph... But I just bash so I'm ok for now, but might pull the trigger on the max5. She is a beast, can't wait to see you bash this one. Great choice on the M2C Chassis!! 👍👍😎... I have all M2C on my Outcast and she is so Bashable and So fun and manic with the 800kv and that gearing! Love your stuff as always👍 See ya round

I'm running same system in kraton 8s 47 spur 43 pinion. Max 5 800 kv hobbywing this made kraton act like the lighter outcast on handling .47spur 39 pinion 1100kv hobbywing castle 1/6 8s ESC on outcast 8s outcast back flip dead stop up curb haven't done speed run .but didn't really have a need to when any little hill I can backflip on . Always great videos .

Looks AWESOME Vas 😱. Speed is very deceiving with a truck this size 👀. The stock tires don't quite do that system and setup justice for top speeds or acceleration. The 08s Backflips or heavier/taller Duratrax Six Packs or Lockups really get the power down much better, especially off-road with good bite 😜. I found the stock tires just burnout with that power on tarmac. I'm super curious to see how she does and how you like her in a bashing situation. The torque is highly addicting 😍. Nice video pal, one thing to say those tires wont get you the speed that you want and mark my words its a heavy truck with torky motor so if you use racing tires which is meant for road you will for sure get a better speed. I just got this esc/motor combo

Just ordered the EXB. Not sure whether or not I wanna run the Castle 1100kv x2 combo, or save some money and go with the Max5. This Max5 setup is looking pretty good, so it's kinda hard for me to justify the extra $130 (U.S dollars) for the castle setup.

That Skye GPS has 4x the refresh it's very accurate

Good question, but I'm not sure. I would think given that it's a bigger motor with more torque, it would be more efficient, not less, but I guess I'll find out once I use it off road.

Maybe you could try a 980kv motor for more speed? I think Rich Duperbash tried the 980kv

I think most people are getting mid fifties mph with that type of set up. I was able to get 53mph out of the stock electronics on a 25t pinion. Yes your set up is a ton more torque. I'm really struggling with making the leap to that type of set up because I'm not seeing a huge upgrade in speed. There is a 5298 1200kv motor that I have been thinking of trying 👍

Hi guys off topic of this video ,as a newbie with a budget of 300 to 400 dollars what is the best option,,,hyper 7 nitro,,bangood cheeta,,or baja petrol car ,,,

I’d keep the same gear ratio but go up to 1200 kv motor and put street tires on it.

Can’t those motors get 12s? You would need another ESC for that, but it would be very fast

Maybe try a 1350 kv motor

I will check that when I bash it, but it felt pretty cold when I touched after those passes.

Maybe a little bit more kv for the higher speed stuff, I’d leave if for bashing though and some road tyres would help for some top speed runs but I’m sure you know that man. Love ya vids.

Did you mean to say 39/39 gearing? That's what I'm using on my Outcast 8s as gearing but I think it's too slow on take off, so I'm going to try 35/39 gearing. But I'm using the XLX2 AND 800KV MOTOR. The 39/39 gearing puffed my batteries during bashing. My xmaxx trucks running the max 5 and 1100kv 5687 with mod 1.5 gearing and 25/35 gearing are way more explosive and faster honestly. I think it's the weight difference, the gear ratio and the 1100kv motor honestly. 🤔. 52mph is not that impressive and it takes it a while to get there . I think the 1100kv motors is where it's at on 8s. The 800kv needs and wants 10s, 12s for it to reach its potential. I'm not doing that. Try the 1100kv motor from hobbywing and 24/34 gearing. I think I'm heading towards that direction. Or the new 1100kv motor from Castle. But that one is hard to find right now.

At those speeds, if that thing with it's weight hits you in the leg/ankle you are wheelchair bound for life

I'll let you know after I take it out for a bash. Doing these speed runs, they worked fine and there's not much to report, but we'll see if that changes once they get kicked around a bit.

I got those fans from Banggood and they worked ok for a few minutes while bashing. Don't know what went wrong, but they weren't on when I hit LVC on the first bash session. Can't say I recommend them given they didn't last me very long, but they are cheap and if you replace them with better quality fans, maybe it's worth it for the housing.

Great speed. But when you spend so much on this truck, you should t need to upgrade it to move like that

The stock electronics are completely capable of 50mph all day... I don't get why people complain about it, buy a pinion for it and there you go, yeah you won't get the torque but still, the xmaxx has the same problem and no one complains about it just because it pops wheelies.

@@NepDouble07 exactly!! I bought the EXB roller and put the stock spectrum 160a esc and 1250kv motor and get 62mph with a 39T spur and 27T pinion with no heat issues. I see people changing things around and getting crap speeds smh.

I'm curious to see how fast it would be with that 1100kv motor and the max 5. I feel like you should've gotten more that 85ish km/h, especially with a 30 tooth pinion.

I’m looking at getting one, would I need to up grade the chassis, note I don’t plan on jumping it? Also I see there are chassis from 89 to 200 but they both say it’s made of the 7075, any idea why such a price difference?

When u say spool. You have a spool in it? U have transmission in it right? With a regular mod 1 gear 8mm? Or is spur gear different on kraton 8s? If i order a sage say 39 tooth . For cemter. Do i order a sage mod 1 . 8mm 39 tooth gear? Like for any other speed build i have? And reg mod 1 gear 8mm for motor? 2028 can 1100kv.

Vas what you need to look into for this rig is the following. An Alien 350 amp ESC A TP5870 1070 KV motor. That will give you 78+ mph and wheelies all day. on 8S.

People have gotten the Kraton 8s to go to 100mph with the new castle system

Yes, but that castle system costs about twice as much as the Max5 system here and they used a ESC that's not even available yet. For me needs and budget, I'm happy with my Hobbywing setup.

You need to go with a closer to one to one gear ratio I run 48-52 on my xmaxx with the same ESC motor combo and its stupid fast. Plus 50c is not enough you sould be in the 90c as a minimum.

Check out innovation rc's channel. He's got his Kraton hitting 106mph and he did get it up to the high 70s on the standard electronics. You might be able to get some inspiration from him.

Not trying to do those speeds, I'm really just testing what my bash setup is doing. I've spoken to Brandon about speed runs in the past and he's been very helpful, but trying to make this big beast go faster is not really my aim, I'll leave that to him, I just want to be happy with whatever speed I can get it to do when I bash it. Doing these speed tests is just that - a test - and it helps me get an idea of what speed the cars are capable of with the current setup and if I can go faster or if it's fast enough. Hope that all makes sense.

@@AussieRCPlayground totally makes sense. That much speed is not needed for bashing. I might do 12s setup on mine eventually. Run 8s for bashing and 12s for speed runs? No need then to gear up or down.

Some people are having issues with that motor and ESC. I have the XLX2 and 800kv motor combo. No issues so far. I just want a little more speed taking off than what the 39/39 gearing offers. I'm going to try 35/39 gearing and go from there 🤔. The recommended gearing for the 1100kv motor is 25/35 so I wouldn't do 1:1 on the 1100kv.

What would happen if the screw bigger in the motor mount than motorgot in

Centre diff needs a thicker oil. Seems like there is too much power to the front even at top speed.
