I used west systems to laminate my floor reinforcements. I hope that is going to work.

Yes that is ideal!
I noticed you're using GFlex to laminate the sponson transom. Why use that over the 105/206 you used for the hull cross braces?

G-Flex is used mostly throughout, with 105/206 used only for sealing and in some laminating situations where I want a thinner mix
What thickness are the pieces you are putting in? Is this better than glass or carbon fiber?

Good questions, and I guess I should've talked about that. I use 1/16" ply for the overlay, and don't know if one idea is better than another, but I do know that it looks awesome in wood so that's why I use it. Personal preference I suppose.

G'day Scott.Question for you. Firstly, I had a flat bottom go fast boats years ago and it was all balsa reinforced floor to keep the weight down. Once it was resin coated it was extremely strong and it looked really nice. How would you go using balsa to strengthen the floor and the asthetic's would be really good as well.

Yup and a lot of the inboard hydros use it too, but the reason is that it's cheap. Balsa is super soft and nearly useless in terms of strength, so I can't see any reason to use it. Worse yet, it soaks up water like a sponge, so any small nick anywhere creates a wet, soggy spot that has to be cut out and replaced, all for no benefit!

A far better option for model boats (any boat actually, but very expensive at scale) is a flexible foam core. Take a look at a product called Soric and you'll see what I mean.
