Great idea using those earth magnets as door latches. If the motor wasn't so big and heavy the boat would be sitting like a life size pontoon. Absolutely awesome project!
@nebojsadjurin64454 жыл бұрын
Great job! But definitely too heavy. Especially aft heavy. Small corrections and it is perfect! :-)

Really cool build. I think you could get more buoyancy out of the pontoons if you use a plastic that will coat the walls of your mold and leave the center hollow. This may require a way to slowly rotate the mold while the polymer cures. You could also use that awesome camera mount as a base for a water cannon to squirt your kids.

Gorgeous build, you had me wondering WTF at the start when you were making the molds for the pontoons. Just a thought but, how about replacing the outer pontoons with PVC pipe for some extra flotation? That way the boat _should_ ride a little bit more naturally.

It's cool but way to heavy. Make the pontoons out of the mix pour foam and seal it. Its stronger than you expect. It would float way better than it is
@BrandonsGarage

It is, at 4:55 I apply the wax based release agent at 5:12 I pour the mixed foam. It floats quite well, I could probably add a couple more pounds to the interior without issue. Problem I think is with the large outboard; its weight, size, and placement. Also, I believe it is too under-powered, a few more RPMs and I could probably get onto plane.

Not too heavy. Maybe a diy mini hyrdofoil to the engine to plane the boat, or just extend the side pontoons a bit.

Pour half, let it dry, pour the other half. Problem though, the lower mold will release air bubbles as it cures, leaving the final part a little rough. To solve this problem, you would flip it over, and re-pour the bottom half again.
