RC Plane battery voltage telemetry for only $6 from FMS

Wouldn't it be great to have an alarm when your battery gets to a certain voltage while you are flying. You can use the telemetry in some radio system, but you can also use this FMS Battery Tester Alarm for the "Poor Man's Telemetry". In this video I show how to use this in your rc plane

Not bad for a simple battery alarm...

Nice! I wondered why they were $6 and now I know -:) Love the touch and go idea, perfect application .

I've found them to be pretty handy for those planes that don't have Spektrum/Frsky battery telemetry and I'd like to push that battery past the timer. Like on my FMS Ranger. Doing touch and go's for a lot longer than the timer... Thanks for watching - Will

A good test would be to "hear" about how far away you can hear the beep. One benefit to the continual beep is that if it goes off and you are further away, when you get closer it would still be sounding if you had let off the throttle. The FMS one is still preferred in my mind if you can hear it far enough away.

Not sure on the distance. For me and my old ears, I can hear it almost anywhere I typically fly. I like the fact that it will stop once the battery recovers a little. Some of my batteries are old and they drop voltage when I hit that throttle, but recover fine and will last for several minutes of flight. The constant beeping from the cheap Alarms was awful.. These are the way to go for sure...

@@SteffenRC I bought one in my last FMS order so I'll be trying it out on my next flight. I love being able to get the battery levels.

That's the one to buy for sure. Those other ones are worthless!

I've been using the Dumb version of this for years on my dumb drones. It can be heard at well over 100 yrds.. My little 400mm warbirds cant make use of these.
