Hi James, This boat is nitro and was based on a frame kit from MLBoatworks. I made wholesale changes to the bottom of the boat to suit my liking, but the basic kit is quite excellent. What percentage of nitro are you using...back in the 90's I ran 70% in my picco 67 scratch built out rigger hydro fun days

I don't know of anyone using 70% in .67 scale these days. I've used 60 or 65% the past few years, though to be completely honest I can't tell any difference between them. Thanks for watchin'!

Can you tell me how to get started in RC hydroplanes ? Also how much it costs? I live in Madison Indiana.

Michael - The best way to get involved is to get involved! I don't know the area where you live but I'm certain there are races nearby. Do some searching online, find events and races, and GO! Get to know the racers in your area, ask questions, help at the race sites, and before you know it you'll have a radio in your hands. As to the cost.... well.... like most hobbies it can be very expensive or very affordable depending upon how far you want to push it. In my area a guy can race 1/10th scale electric hydroplanes for next to nothing, or 1/8th scale nitro burning monsters for a small fortune, but either way you won't regret it. Get out there... meet the racers... get a boat... let's race!

Hi Michael propwalkers rc club in Madison. they're "the" hydro club in the area. Also in cincinatti, the cincinatti model boat club.

Watching some of the races would be great. Too much pit bid.

Nope, I don't think so. These things are costly and take a mighty long time to build.... if you want them built well.
