RC ADVENTURES - Tragedy on Open Water - Training Mission goes Wrong - Aquacraft Rescue 17

Click to Subscribe! ► bit.ly/JOovvU - Newsfeed: "This just in, a Captain of a Fire & Rescue Ship has died today, after a Training Mission off the coast of Alberta, Canada, went Horribly wrong due to high winds.. Practicing maneuvers in high seas is a regularly scheduled exercise for these experienced rescue folk - but today it is speculated that unusually high winds caused a failure in the bilge pump of this vessel, and emergency radio contract was made just before the boat capsized. This amateur video footage shows the entire mission. The boat was recovered, but the captain was lost. A complete investigation has been launched to see if any liability is held with the Rescue Mission Dispatch.
I know a lot of folks ask me about the products I use, so I usually grab some info on the rig and post it here. For this rig - please see the following from the Aquacraft Website!
"The hull gleams, the lights shine - and the water cannon really works!
Authentically detailed - and ready for action!
It's a one-of-a-kind fireboat - and it's ready to hit the water just moments after it's out of the box. It's not just the only large-scale fireboat RTR available; it's also the only one that offers such a broad range of fine detail with the ease of factory installation. There are working lights in the cabin and on the communications mast, rotating, working water cannon on deck and authentic detail everywhere else you look, too. It makes superb scale details easy to enjoy - and it's so complete, all you add are batteries and a charger.
Water cannon rotates 120° - and shoots a stream of water up to 10 feet.
Bright, 10-piece LED lighting system
Painted, joined fiberglass hull, deck and cabin.
Comes out of the box with scale details already installed:
Wire rope deck railing
Ladders and staircases
Water cannon with high-capacity pump
Radar and radio mast
Windows, searchlights and more.
Includes:
Finished, assembled fiberglass hull and deck
Tactic TTX490 4-channel 2.4GHz SLT transmitter
Factory-installed:
10-piece LED lighting system
600-size motor
Water-cooled, waterproof and LiPo-compatible 11.1V ESC
TR400 4-Channel 2.4GHz SLT receiver
Water pump, servos, linkages and drive system
Length: 38 in (965 mm)
Beam: 10.25 in (261 mm)
Height: 17 in (432 mm)
Weight: 8 lb (3.60 kg)
Requires: 11.1V 2200mAh LiPo battery, charger & (8) "AA" batteries."

    It was dark and stormy morn when the plucky Fire boat went out . Almost from the start the training mission went wrong . Plowing a course through the murky treacherous waters known as the "Pond" at fool hardy speeds. As the rain drove in and the choppy swells broke across the deck the crew held on for life itself . Scuttle butt was some malfunction had occurred and the ships wheel had been rendered useless some kind of over ride had been initiated. The crew could only watch as the boat was maneuvered in to the wind side on to the swells ,insanity itself to any salty sea dog , almost as if some laughing giant on shore were controlling it . A t times it seemed as if in slow motion. Then it happened , coming about down wind she capsized . With the echos of the laughing giant in there ears the crew held on. Driven by the gale force wind onto the notorious rocks of "Pond edge". The last the crew saw was a giant with yellow ear covers lifting the ship out of the foamy brine . I have waaaaaaay to much time on my hands Nice Video man. Hope the back feels better and this was mildly entertaining.

    does anyone else imagine being able to have the power to shrink yourself so you can control rc vehicles from the helm or driver seat and see it like how he had the camera on the boat, i just think that would be so cool to be in the middle of the rough water like that and if something goes really wrong just make yourself bigger again so you would be in trouble

    My boaters safety training course in Louisiana says to hit waves at a angle to prevent water from splashing over the bow

  • @parmesanjon

    @parmesanjon

    9 жыл бұрын

    Hitting a wave at a 45* angle will make the wave cycle the longest it could possibly be, thus adding to the comfort factor. But I know with different hull designs, and PWC's, you want to hit head on.

  • @ColdStartAuto

    @ColdStartAuto

    SeaDooSnipeGaming I hit them at an angle, i mostly use a flat bottom hull, occasionally a v shaped craft,

  • @ColdStartAuto

    @ColdStartAuto

    9 жыл бұрын

    ***** no because the wave will overtake the gunwhales on the bow if you do. the angle stops the massive splash, which is great if you dont have a functioning bildge pump

  • @michaelfletcher1694

    @michaelfletcher1694

    8 жыл бұрын

    only had v shaped hulls but.. always go square onto waves... you hit them at an angle and the boat bounces off chucking you left or right and also listing the boat. Guess you never been fast in waves then lol and I can bet 1000 pounds you wouldn't stay dry if you tried it on a fast tiller boat ;)

  • @michaelfletcher1694

    @michaelfletcher1694

    8 жыл бұрын

    +SlickNicklol pluss the v of the hull spread the waves to the sides. if the front of your boat is underwater you simply got the wrong boat for where you are and haven't bothered to check the weather or use common sense with the developing seas. and you're also going to fast for the conditions and probably got the engine trimmed to low and too much weight in Bow

    It always sucks when your boat flips. At least the cause of the flip was its saving grace too. I had my boat flip in the middle of a pond on a completely calm day. Took the better part of a hour throwing rocks, and sticks to try and create enough ripples to bring it within range of a stick on a rope.
