Click to Subscribe! ► bit.ly/JOovvU - PART 2 - MAiN EVENT! What a beautiful spring day for some AWESOME RC Boating! This was our first time out as a group at this location. Luke and I arrived early in the morning with Chris and Todd. Straight away we started setting up the gates, and working out two courses. This race was hosted by "OneTooManyRC's" (Luke), who has gone out of his way to bring RC people together in Calgary! Check out OneTooManyRC LEDS: / onetoomanyrcs - I was invited to document todays fun, and take part in the setup of the two courses.
I have had some jet boating experience in the previous years and I know how these little jet boats operate. Its not like the standard external prop boat, where as a spinning prop is exposed to hitting rocks. This little boat works on a different principal - Sucking in water from a bottom hull port, to shoot through a prop and tube jet setup. The directional "jet" moves the boat forward, left, and right.
These boats are not originally out of the box "awesome". They are actually a "toy" based, much slower version. Certain upgrades must be made such as the steering servo, esc, and brushless motor.
The "NQD Tear Into water jet RC boat" comes stock with a brushed system and is truly a "Toy" grade boat. Upgrades must be done to really have a powerful, and more fun boat. Expect to pay about $100 to get the stock boat, and sink another $200 or more into it - depending on your upgrades, and needs.
A standard upgrade is a 60amp esc, 2750kv brushless motor, and Waterproof servo. Also, a Skid plate is required, with a nose guard. Both will be made by the owner, as none are available yet for after market!
In this video we all converge together.. just before the races begin! Practice, Practice, Practice.. we all need it.. as THiS iS OUR FiRST EVER JET BOAT EVENT! Really cool.. and we hope it inspires you to get outside and have fun with the RC hobby.

Have I been watching RCSparks Studio for over 6 years now ? OMG and yet he still manages to put out such great content even after all this time
I found these on Ebay from 65-80. They also have a lot of replacement parts, which was a surprise. Definitely picking one up for the river this summer. Thanks for showing these little guys off.

This is so much fun. It reminds me of salmon making their way upstream to spawn. It looks like a complete success and hope it continues. I imagine each year may be different depending on the amount of Spring snow melt. Congratulations Aaron for the first annual race. Looking forward to more.
That's cool. I would imagine one of those little air boats would be just as much fun.
Love these boats and love the RC Hobby itself. Flipping and breaking are part of the game, I just got my Traxxas Stampede fixed after break almost everything in mud. Lol :)
This looks SO fun! Man, I wish we had stuff like this in the UK. Or at least a little RTR jet boat. Awesome!

Lol how funny! I run FE's & use to run K&B on Prather back in the day, I have Pro Boat Stiletto 29 that runs 4s which a ton of fun, but that looked like so much fun I think I'll have to try that out & a family reunion :P. Always enjoy your video's man, keep up the great builds & take care brother.! Cars, trucks & boats are so fun, been enjoying this great hobby since the mid 90's & no sign of slowing down now running on-road carpet for a change after 3 years of indoor off-road!

Smahing Job :) great to see the jet boat bug so alive and strong, Top footage on the other vid to, I put a jet sprint vid up, with a lighter power set up works great from 3 up to 5 cell, not tried 2 but should be good,the jet unit and motor fit well in an NQD,Hope all is Rockin with you Guysall the best Mark

man always wanted to get one of these jet boats, looks like so much fun with a group like this. yours seems to do a little bit better getting threw the rapids but always alittle top heavy prob cause the blower on the engine ya put on ya think?? awesome job tho man
