The best Intake mani ive seen tested was the type R's RRC . From the k20A , you guys should try that

Thanks for sharing. Very intresting results. We learned the RBC is very good BUT its been ported... Which changes everything. Not every port job is the same. A good port job (blue printed, cfm and turbulence tested) isnt cheap either.

I think the porting of the rbc is what made the difference, who did the port work? Also super informative. I'd like to see the H22 euro r manifold vs the skunk2 pro series

Dammit th3 whole reason I watched this video is to see the graph comparison which is barely visible. Peak means squat a lot of times and there was definitely a diff between the two on the graph from what I could see

I'm going with the Skunk2 pro, I'm not interested in porting a RBC after all the cutting to make it fit. How much power does a ported Skunk2 make?

It’ll make a difference when your throw boost at it or have a serious engine cause you’re not using the skunk to it’s full potential

Not even. Even big turbo k24s barely pick up 20hp at over 800. You can get more from 0.2 more compression or 0.5* of timing

what happened to the skunk hp rating with the new header?

All depends on your build on what manifold will work best

are they running open headers or megaphones

So if using this manifold on the stock motor will it not hurt it in the long run?

The skunk2 unltra is a good manifold and it has itb's but the RBC wit a port job is better then a skunk2 ultra. U guys gotta remember that u port these manifolds and see numbers.

wasn't the rbc manifold ported also? if the rbc manifold was bone stock it would have been different results. honestly the skunk2 ultra was too big 4 that setup. 4 all we know a bone stock rbc manifold might have made just as much. what about the RRC type r manifold?do you think it would make more power then both those manifold? would be nice to find out, or is it overrated and not worth the extra coin

The RRC Mani is the best one. Is gets higher dyno numbers than even a ported RBC. Blueprint ported RBC = +5.3HP / +1.3TQ and RRC(stock) = +14.5HP / +8.6TQ. I have the RRC on my K20A Type R swap.

Ultra runs like 700$ or some shit , rbc is like 240$ brand new but how much is it to port it ?

Did both manifold receive the same amount of tuning before the numbers were determined?

If this is a stock k20 with cams I'm surprised the bigger parts didn't straight up lose power. Stock motors don't always respond well to big upgrades. Maybe a better flowing head and more compression would be totally different. I also saw the larger spacer on the Mani I thought it was gonna straight lose when I saw that.

***** ok good. When I saw the parts I thought the smaller parts were gonna straight up kill the larger parts for a stock motor. Had no clue it would remain the same. The sk2 mani would leave him room to grow I guess.

mattthon I don't have it but if you pause the video, The RBC is the blue line and the ultra is the red. When they put the RBC on it picked up mid range power.

With some big compression the skunk2 will really shine

In reality, these horsepower numbers might be the same but I can assure you the Dyno graph lines are not

Would have been nice to see the actual Dyno graph line instead of just hearing the numbers👍🏾 numbers are one thing that Dyno graph line is the motors actual performance

In my opinion, the reason they picked up more horsepower with the 4-2-1 was because the motor was breathing too much had too much flow going through it with the 4-1

Is the head actually port matched to the skunk 2 mani tho??? If not that's the problem

Haha. Decent comparison. However, the Skunk2 is designed to have more meat for porting and if you do port the Skunk2, it makes more power everywhere in comparison to the RBC. The RBC can only be ported up to roughly 67mm where as the Skunk2 can be ported to 76.

Its already WAY too big lol, there is no point in porting a S2 ultra race w/spacer for this build.. Maybe if they used the S2 ultra "street'' instead, it would be more suited for a "stock CR" cammed k20

This why this comparison was not so good the sk2 would do a lot better on a high comp motor that wants to rev to the moon for me my choice was simple with being able to run a run a bigger throttle body off the rip and just being able to clean it up a bit instead of cutting and porting if the rbc wasent ported there no comparison the pro series and the rbc flow about the same

Don't know why everyone is running RBC, the RRC is better. Ported RBC = 5.3HP / 1.3TQ and RRC (stock) = +14.5HP / +8.6TQ. It's a bit more pricey but worth it I think.

i dont understand why everybody is so butt hurt over this? but to the owner of the car and TUNER.. what did you expect? skunk 2 will tell you the same thing.. that manifold is made for a BUILT engine.. high compression, high rpms and a engine that actually moves fucking AIR. not a stock block with cams. RBC is ported and will always make more power with a STOCK engine. ITBs will only give you the best results on stock applications.

These things are a waste of money. For the few times they really help...ITBs do it even better.

robertha your trying make one side sound so much more advanced then the other but in reality it's exactly the same shit going on. Both coast races cars, trucks, bikes, boats you name it. Vehicles from all over are fast and slow. Has nothing to do with east coast vs west. Also Honda / acura sponsored race cars run a lot faster than they did when you were in high school. The technology has advanced and people are using it! That's why I said youre mistaken what's actually going on. Think of the ol timers who ran muscle back in their high school days.
