I just bought this keyboard on Friday, it's so nice to type on, this is my first mechanical keyboard, it actually feels like a premium product, it's pretty heavy and feels well built, the wrist rest is nice and comfortable to lean on for long periods of time and the cables are very thick and well made too, very high end keyboard. Everything is very responsive and I love the media controls! So useful, I upgraded from a razer Cynosa. So worth it imo it is quite expensive but it feels like a premium product.

If this comes out with a mercury edition i wouldnt hesitate

It looks like they solves a couple of issues with actuation on this new set of switch. They seem quiter than than the V1 or TE. And I really like the wrist rest indeed! I wish they make something like that for the other versions, in the future.

i'm thinking of this vs drop ctrl. love the drop for the premium mechanical feel but these analog switches in the huntsman are really cool

Great review, I had some QC issues with my previous huntsman elite (no surprise) so hopefully this one restores my outlook on Razer.

The analog feature is definitely very useful. For me this is a good reason to upgrade.

@@iainacosta7453 same but idk if thats doable, analog capability is VERY expensive to make, you have the apex prob at what like $190, and only the 60 main keys have analog capability. $250 is definitely pushing it, shouldnt be over 200

I bought the Huntsman Elite red linear keyboard two years ago when it released. It was my go to driver up until this week, when I decided to upgrade. I originally got the Huntsman v2 without doing my research, and the clicky purples were just too loud for my discord. I have a Blue Yeti and it's to the left of my setup so it definitely picks up every keystroke when gaming with my friends. It was very satisfying to type on, and I enjoyed it. I returned it at Best Buy today and picked the analog up since they had restocked it since the last time I was there. I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD. It's satisfying to type on, listen to, feels smooth and responsive, and comes with the PBT caps. I ordered a set of the phantom ones to replace the stock PBT as I do agree that they aren't as bright as they should be on certain keys like the prnt scrn key. I picked it up on sale for $180.99.. the same price as the Huntsman v2 for me. Definitely worth every penny.

Also, important thing: they are basically free from any and I mean ANY scratchiness. The switches feel fantastic. Imo, one of the best linears out there.

ive been torn between the huntsman TKL and the mini. Im really not sure what to get because im unsure if i want the linear or the clicky switches. I currently have the blackwidow chroma which is closer to the purple clicky switch apparently but ive heard the linears are better for gaming but terrible for typing. Such a hard choice for someone who games and also does uni work on their PC xD

I've been using a regular Huntsman since not long after it released and love it, I was saying a few days ago the only reason i'd upgrade is if they made a V2 and now I'm tempted to get this. I didn't fork out for the Elite because I didn't care for the extra but there is no regular V2 without the wrist wrest, underglow and media keys. Is it quieter than the Huntsman and Huntsman Elite?

Wow seeing the RGB keycap comparison as well as the full lighting side by side between the Elite and V2, the V2 really looked dim. I put the Razer PBT keycaps on a Blackwidow Elite and thought it was dim... this looks worse for some reason, even with the same keycaps. Whats a shame is the poor backlighting on some of the keys like the pause and others. Inexcusable. The ideal match would be the NEW keycaps with the new font the Corsair is using on their K100, put on this keyboard. That would be a great match. But it doesn't look like Corsair is selling the new keycaps yet(with the new font and made for a standard bottom row).

It's nuts lol, I always think that it doesn't matter how fast your board is, the slowest part will always be the user. 250$ for a keyboard is just nuts if you think about how much better a budget custom can perform. I mean you could build a Tofu65 for that money and mod it until it sounds godlike, if you try really hard with more budget oriented switches that includes keycaps and all that stuff D:

@@PinePizza I never really understood your argument tbh. I see it all the time on reddit when some asks about input latency. It gets downvotes and people say "it doesn't matter how fast your board is, the slowest part will always be the user" Of course human reaction time is slower than a keyboard. But it's the addition of the keyboard latency to the reaction time of the human that makes the difference. The difference between the Huntsman/k100/g915 to something like a Ducky board is between 20-30ms. That can be the difference between winning and losing in competitive gaming.

@@leef9834 I would say that the difference is relatively small, in theory. I can't even feel something that is supposed to be faster and I've tried on a low latency 144hz panel. Sure, some professional gamer might benefit from it but the average gamer? I think not many would notice. The jump from 60hz to 144hz on a screen, that really makes a difference in my opinion but faster peripherals.. Eh, I would say that it might take a while until this becomes relevant or it will never be. Some people play with a ping of 60 and win games by knowing in depth how they work, knowledge, prediction, all of that, it's not an expensive, branded gaming keyboard with clever marketing that gives them that one secret advantage. And I'd say that applies to everything, shooters, mobas and such, the difference would be minimal and even in a professional setting I bet not a single person would say: "oh heck I wouldn't have won if it wasn't for that Razer keyboard" (though I bet some gamers will be sponsored by razer to use it and not even care, they will do it for the money) Then we have being used to things. Some people stick to older, inferior setups because they know them. People who play rhythm games for example, getting used to a new input device there can take months! So yeah, sure someone might appreciate the customization but not having it isn't a deal breaker. Analog sound nice but I'd rather mod something until I like it because how it feels is what matters to me. But don't get me wrong, I'm not stopping anyone, I commented because I feel like it's just clever marketing. Who really feels such a board is necessary will get it and I hope that person will enjoy their purchase! But I still want to tell others that there are options out there they might not even be aware of :)

@@PinePizza I respect what you're saying and for the most part I agree. I dont think perception should be the only metric used to judge whether something has benefit. I am not suggesting that these super low latency keyboards will make you mechanically a better gamer. But in very specific scenarios. EG a bomb defusal in CS or a defensive ult in OW. a 30 ms delay after a key press can be the difference between success and failure.
