Ray Tracing with AMD’s Weakest GPU… Cyberpunk 2077 vs RX 6300

Today we're putting AMD's low-end modern Radeon RX 6300 graphics card to the test with Ray Tracing, which it supports! Just because it does work though, doesn't mean we should use it.

You can play Cyberpunk on Vega 7 graphics but I wouldn't recommend that. Even an A380 is a substantially better performer than the RX6300. you can get an A380 for $110. Probably spent more getting a RX6300 since it isn't really built with consumer sales in mind. They go to SIs for building workstations.

Lots of stuff a super low power gpu is very useful for, either as a display adapter, DIY arcade cabinet or a lot more. Also, in this segment, there literally is no other choice that is using a latest node and recent architecture. The closest other option is the gtx 1030 on 14nm that uses 30w vs 24, idles under 1w vs 2-3w and is 3x the speed.

😊 im rebuilding my older pc's and just for fun im testing them all out with my older bus powered radeon cards, my favorites are the Dell HD 7570 1GB DDR5 and the DELL or HP R7 450 4GB DDR5, I think the 450 is kinda like the baby brother of the RX 550, i tested out cyberpunk 2077 and the 450 is still too weak for 720p Low 30fps so for cyberpunk i recommending the lowest u can go would be an RX 550, now that being said I also always install GTAV for all my ancient pc's because its strangely well optimized and on GTAV u can get the little HD7570 720p Low 40fps. Also to note, over on the amernimezone website if u want to use their drivers the oldest cards that still get support is HD 7000 series and R7 and R9 cards. I just tested it on my 450 and the amernimezone driver works. Oh and also please keep in mind that for older stuff you need a display port cable and a monitor that has displayport input because HDMI does not work on alot of older stuff especially if its Radeon.

recently grabbed one of these cards from eBay and got a good price for a Dell SFF build with it used against a 10th gen i5. Overall, less than 120w system when gaming and completely silent. Great for a media PC on a TV or other similar application. These cards are cheap right now, I picked it up much cheaper than others at $50 US and couldn't have been happier with the performance for the noise level. Most half-height cards are screaming loud if they have to use more than 40w of power to try and cool, so this was exactly what I was trying to stay away from while still allowing a good 1080p interaction for video playback and basic gaming on older titles.

It's also great for basic tasks that require gpu acceleration, like 3d modeling in blender or other desktop activities, absolutely blows a 5700g out of the water, as well as anything intel has on a cpu.
