Sir Ji, for a equiconcave or convex lens silvered at one end, why do we take diverging system as -ve and converging system as +ve? For example if we have an equiconcave lens silvered at right side and object is kept left to the lens, in the equivalent focal length we take focal lenght of convex surface as -ve as it is diverging, but when we draw in ray diagrams we get focal length as + ve , can you pls tell why sir?
