Dude this is AWSOME I wished I was in on this 10 months ago but I have recently gotten back into the rc world and talk to rocbud almost every day bro I couldn’t agree more with this whole vid I’ve been back in almost 6 months and have been fighting an on goin battle with the slash 2 wd and the 70 plus challenge I’ve forgot so much in 20 yrs and I’m still havin a blast waiting on transmission parts now as after about 6 crashes and a failed attempt at trying to slam the throttle to get it just to haul butt I blew the transmission up lmao I still have a blast and never realized 70 mph would be so hard with an rc 😬 I feel the car is deffinately ready now as I think I am the cause of most of my problems haha gotta learn throttle control thanks so much for putting out such a great vid explaining why this club is out here as do try to get in the club I hope it won’t be to much longer and I’ll be part of the 70 plus family thanks bro

I hear you my friend, and I accept that challenge. The game has changed in the short time I've been around. Hopefully this will help put the fun back in it.

Dangit!! You keep beating me to good ideas!!! Great thinking, bro! I was actually already going to downgrade my Rustler from a Mamba Monster X ESC to a Mamba X ESC for this year for the exact reasons you stated. (I would have gone back to a sidewinder, but I need the data logging.) I love running the Rustler because it's fun and approachable. You don't need to pour a grand into it to do something cool, but it also has a good amount of challenge to it. Here's what I was thinking for ground rules. 1. 1/10 class ESC (Velinion, Sidewinder, MMP, Mamba X, or equivalent), no 1/8 or 1/5 scale ESCs 2. One, 1, uno, single, solitary, solo 2S or 3S battery. No parallel packs. 3. Total weight: 6 lbs or less (this will allow for some weights to balance out the cars, but nothing too crazy) 4. Keep it fun. What do you guys think?

These are just personal rules I've put on myself. Other guys are more than welcome to run with them, though. I think the beauty of the Rustler is that it is a cheap, simple, but tough platform. I was trying to figure out where to go with my Rustler over the winter and realized that I I hadn't really given it a fair shake with a 1/10 scale power system. It's been past 70 mph, but it was using an MM2 ESC, so it didn't really count, so I never "officially" made it into the 70+ mph club. It's time to fix that. ;-)
