Interesting. Has the area experienced drought conditions recently? Sometimes these things open when an aquifer runs dry. Would be interesting to know the geologic history of the area. Also, note how the hole opens right below the light pole. I wonder if it was recently installed and that made the roof of an underground cave unstable, causing the collapse? Fortunate that no one was hurt!

The light pole is between fields. Bleachers or player benches were there as well. Someone did not do their due diligence in the ground support of that light post.
