Marines are naval infantry used to deploy from ships to conduct amphibious operations near the coast, and primarily use combined assaults. But since the modern battlefield has changed, they deploy inland.

@TheUsmc29 I'm in the Canadian Military..(all jokes aside) and that 16 civilian deaths were caused by the action of one command, after years of combat or service people can develop PTSD or break down. The news glamorizes the failures because that generates views, this doesn't mean that the marines could have the same problems, it's just what the media produces.

the marines are a special branch of the navy and they specialize in sea air and land combat. they are also an amphibious combat force (which means they come in through sea) and are usually the first to into a foreign country or battlefield.

No sir, Marines are first to fight no matter where the fight is: land, sea, or air. They have their own fighter jets, helicopters, and support planes. But you're right in a way, they work closely with the Navy if that's what you mean.

Marines are a quick reaction force due to the fact that they are smaller in number than the Army. Marines specialize in invasion from sea but have the capacity to fight on any terrain. The Army specializes in Airborne (101st and 82nd) operations and Air Assault.

PLEASE RESPOND!! Can women be combat engineers in the marines? I have asked 100 million times but never got a correct answer. I know that just because it says combat doesn't mean every aspect of it is. The Marines' site doesn't give enough info on closed to women...so i'm guessing its open?

They told (us) to open up the Embassy, or "we'll blow you away." And then they looked up and saw the Marines on the roof with these really big guns, and they said in Somali, "Igaralli ahow," which means "Excuse me, I didn't mean it, my mistake". With no hate or argument, i'm going to tell you why. To initially "Mold" MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program) they brought in several different styles of fighting, plucked a lot from those styles that can be relative to anything that could take place in an encounter. Now the reasons you see holes in some maneuvers, are because theses "plucked" techiniques are generally only the techniques to set up for, Or* Directly open up for the kill move. quick. that's their practice

Shit man, I really wish I could join up. Unfortunately I suffer from fibromyalgia. There is no way I would be able to make it, with my symptoms. Anyone know if you can enlist if you have to be on chronic pain management? I lift weights 5 times a week, but I still have to take meds daily. Has anyone served with an autoimmune disorder? Or any illness for that matter? I want to know if theres a way it can work. Can you serve if you need to see a doctor bi weekly and take regular narcotic meds?

im currently in the d.e.p of the army (11x infantry ft benning) and im thinking of not reporting to my ship date and joining the marines instead. This is only because the army will reward you pfc for recruiting someone to join. if i cant get anyone, why would i want to be an e-2 when everyone else is e-3 even though they are inferior athletically to me. Id rather be an e-2 in the marines then army working my way up. but either branch is going to be fun and i wouldnt regret doing either though

so when people want to compare the art of say, jiu jitsu, or greko, etc. The Marine isn't an "expert" in the whole study of that practice, but knows the top 6 or 7 techniques of that practice that can fit, with momentum into the rest of the practices, for a kill opportunity. If you were to have the Marine (i'm talking about the ones who stay with MCMAP, striped of everything BUT say jui jitsu, vs some who mastered All of jiu jitsu, its impossible to compare.

theres actually a video to proove that wrong. Listen, every "Basic Marine" who only had MCMAP in Boot isn't a fighting/ killing specialist.... with that said, i wouldn't undermine those that go all the way to adding stripes on their black or brown... Those Marines are seriously no joke in the arts of fighting. And its been proven against the UFC a couple times.
