    Amazing run. Been doing long boarding myself for a couple years now. Started off watching Josh Newman and it’s sad seeing him go. He was an amazing rider and seemed like he was a great friend to everyone around him. My condolences go to you and his other friends, I’m truly sorry for your loss 💛

    Yes indeed " like 343 " amazing run Scott / Josh,. Yes,. I got my card information next time you want to customize a board for me Scott,. I just didn't have it set up properly at first. That was a kill kill run ,. No need for sliding,. 2 of the top professionals usually don't have to do that if need be. Not too evident up front but absolutely fast and beautiful!. As if you were on a track that wire or something there's no stopping that skateboard. LoL.

    Once you hit about 30mph on a steep road, the only thing deciding your speed is how aerodynamic you are. The most aerodynamic & fastest position you can do standing up is that tuck. There's not many places the air can get trapped when your knee is against your chest, your legs are together, and your hands are behind your back. An aero helmet can also help

    this road looks like the highway from Big Bear,CA to San Bernadino...City Creek Road. California has these roads in many many places. If you go to the Eastern Sierra like Death Valley there are roads where you might see one car the whole day and get your wicked elevation drop in the thousands of feet.

    Definitely not City Creek/330. Vegetation is wrong for that area of the San Bernardino mountains, this isn’t alpine or green enough. This is definitely either farther east or somewhere on the north side of the range. Most likely this is somewhere closer to Palm Springs but not very far out given density of traffic.

    how are you able to safely have your back heal up at all on those speeds? like for me, anything over 35ish I have my back ankle seriously locked and evenly planted across my wheels engaging as much of the concave as possible to maximize my surface contact. Every time I do those kind of overly exaggerated race tucks it gets sketchy and i can see it getting sketchy in loads of vids(the little extra air gap does not really slow you down and can actually speed you up and decrease you frictional surface area). Why not skate safer for the the sake of lowering your potential of failure?

    At speeds higher than ~10mph you should be supporting most of your weight (70-80%) on your front foot so your steering comes from the front like in a car. This leaves your rear foot for balance and for pushing the board out sideways to slide and slow down. Keeping only your rear toes on the board shifts your weight forwards and allows fine control over the angle of your board to the direction of travel.

  • @kryststar6800

    @kryststar6800

    Its overexaggerated to the point not adding any extra speed and is only creating instability, I have yet to see anybody do any time trials to prove that stupid tight speed tucks reduce overall time at all... Yes of course one should have like eightyish percent of your weight above your front truck but you can still have your foot fully planted its simple,, been skating for about twenty two years, and consistently skate thirty to forty miles per hour and have been over fifty miles per hour quite a few times :)

    @@bryn3652 I know why,, and have gone about sixty-miles per hour before but have never needed to overexaggerate and lift my back foot up to gain any-speed all it does it upset the weight dispersion and reduce stability for a perceived aerodynamic increase.. My Point is it does nothing for overall speed and hurts stability.....I personally Like to skate around the 30-40MPH range and do so on a regular basis...
