@@zooweemamba just cause someone has money, doesn't mean that it's their focus.. it's confirmed he turned down "better" offers to stay here, as far as I am aware. That show's he doesn't just care about money.. Hope you can understand that now.

Awesome to see this - Rico is a great person first and foremost and that's very important. The fact he WANTS to be here vs. we are giving a player the most money to be here is even better. We gotta be the Cup favorites right now - as though other teams have made moves (i.e. Nashville) the moves they made don't compare to what the Oilers have done based on what they already have. And can you imagine Evander Kane LTIR'd for the whole season, only to be activated for the playoffs! Think of our lineup then (not to mention who we may pick up at the Trade deadline).

We love you Rico. I wanted this guy back more than any fa if I’m being honest, he can do so much for the team.

We didnt want Foegele or Vinny back. They wanted to stay didnt you see the press conferences after the Cup Final during locker room clear out? Foegele was almost in tears about having to leave

We had to decide what we could afford vs the win now or build for the future mentality. Plus, Broberg has so much more upside than Vinny, and I think Jeff Skinner has more offensive upside than Warren.

Vinny and Foegele = 2 of my favourite Oilers. After a decade struggling, I get that Vinny had to take his money opportunity. Foegele - that guy was struggling to hold back the tears in his post-season avail. He knew. Still love them both. Vinny & Josh Brown have a date, TBA. Not sure who I'll be pulling for there! LOL.

That was the icing on the cake yesterday - after all the signings we got over the course of the day, we even have Rico signing a new contract. So we get to see some more 3rd line magic. between Brownie, Jani and Rico - soooo looking forward to October 9th and the puck dropping again! LFG OILERS 🔥🔥🔥

Oilers are looking good, once the deals are done for Broberg and Hollaway they will have some depth! Not sure how they will deal with the cap as it looks like they are way over the cap now but again great depth! I really like the make up of this team, funny that its almost all Canadians or Sweeds' on the team

My guess is either Kane is expected to go on LTIR, or they will trade him or Ceci. Probably Ceci.

I knew he come back from his interview after the playoffs I could see he wanted to.

Now, the oilers 7th best forward (arguably), is a former assistant captain. That’s something not a lot of teams can say

Our first line is the best first line in the league, our second line is a good 1st line, our 3rd line is a second line, and our 4th line is a okay 4th line. Our defence is average apart from Bouchard being an elite offensive defenceman and our goaltending is average.

I think this team is special, with special humans. I think most of our players are team first , and to win is more important than a few extra dollars. GO OILERS!!!!!!

Florida panthers came in to the season with the mission, or purpose to win the Stanley Cup. They worked so hard in the off season. If the Oilers want the Cup, it starts now. Get in the mindset, get to the gym, and the ice and have the attitude that we want the Cup more than all the other NHL teams. Look, Conner, and Leon can't play forever at this level. EDM is so close to being a jugernaught now. Depth beyond anyones wildest dreams. 2 RHD- these are the last pieces. Top 4 & bottom pairing. Gonna have to be deadline unless JJ really pulls a rabbit out of his A*%. Ceci & Kulak must go (6M in cap space). Kane (5.15M in cap space) needs to be on LTIR until Late April. Put Broberg on his natural side on the 3rd pair for the season, get him ready to be a top 4 in 2025. Maybe Ackey or Wanner will be ready by then as well.

I don't see any point in moving Kulak. Guy is pretty good in the playoffs. Unless that means an upgrade on RD, in which case trading him makes sense. I am definitely intrigued by Wanner. If that guy can be ready for a call up this year, that will definitely change the calculus.

​@@hardcaliber19 Im in camp Kulak all day. Love his game in the post season as well. Broberg is cheeper and has a much higher ceiling. Ceci can't be on our team come next years post season. Moving both Kulak and Ceci would all but assure the top 4 RHD cap space would be available. Honestly I would much rather be looking for a depth piece come next deadline than a top 4 RHD. This is all contingent on Kane LTIR. If I'm JJ, this is a must. Prolong surgery dates till right before pre season. (It's hard to find the perfect surgeon, they have summers too) Now Tell Kane he is not to return until he is 110%. Hopefully that gets you to All Star break at least, then ask for a second opinion another few weeks. JJ could push this scenario out, as an ex agent, he would know all of the tricks for both sides.
