I get the Houston is a "different team" but what a lot of people neglect to realize is all the holding penalties they had on OBJ and Zay in week 1, the fact that half the roster didn't see preseason action because everyone was coming back from season ending injuries from the year before, the offense still figuring out a new system, and the shuffling on the offensive line. Baltimore crossed more distance than Houston did to become a "different team".

I don't see anyone beating the Ravens right now (and I'm a niners fan). The NFL hasn't really changed much (as far as Super Bowl favorites) since the 70's. If you can consistently pressure the QB and stop the run, your foot is in the door, period. Add to that a Lamar Jackson and it is game over. Nobody can contain him.

That same Titans team they keep dogging ended the Patriots dynasty and even held a 17-7 lead in the first half of the AFC title game as well being the number 1 seed in the AFC in 2021. Titans and Ravens are a rivarly. An intense hard fought rivarly that has seen more meaningful games between the two teams than even the Browns or Bengals have had with Baltimore.

Irvin with a great take regarding ravens d line vs browns d line. Ravens don't have a guy on myles level no doubt. But they got a bunch of guys in that d line that are above average and can certainly beat an average o line man which the texans have other than tunsil. So tunsil can dominate his 1v1 matchups but everyone else can and probably will get beat pretty quickly. Stroud won't have that much time in the pocket like he did vs browns defense. He'll need to up his game again to put 20+ points on this ravens defense.

Ravens will get a lot more pressure on stroud than Cleveland did. Ravens have an elite interior rush which is the Texans weakness on the Oline. However, stroud has shown that he can get the ball out of his hands quickly to avoid sacks. This matchup will decide the game imo

Some serious questions need to be raised about Lamar if the Ravens choke and lose this game.

Stroud rarely goes beyond the 1st read, which makes sense for a Rookie. What makes him better than the average rookie is his shot gun release. There's no pumps. It's like a short stop throw, similar to Mahomes rookie throws & when they block it, he tear drops the short ones & he's got legs. Lamar Jackson got alotta milage on his 1st options too, but he's seasoned now. Advantage Jackson, but I love Jackson's confidence in what he has & his leadership. He's got the talent, poise, & patience to grow into a top tere QB.

And cook is over there too now so that running game to be superior

Yeah, Lamar is 1 and 3 in the playoffs but people forget he hasn’t played a playoff game in 3 years because he was hurt the last 2 years. He’s not the same QB he was in 2020 and neither is the team. I think it’s safe to say both are significantly better.
