Dry Ink brush!!

So this question has been on my mind for months now: why do some artists color a base color underneath. Like in this video for example purple? Also, Your art so amazing and it has inspired me so much! ♥️

In my case, I use a random color to fill in the overall shape and then block the layer, so I can paint freely without painting outside the lines! so yeah, it's just for shape-blocking :D thank you so much 💙
