I’m very thankful for your video. Great detail and explanations of intricate parts and how they line up. Even the helpful hint of oils from fingers possibly causing the bulb to overheat and burn out sooner! What a plethora of knowledge you have! You are a lovely gentleman explaining things in an easy to understand manner. I’m a 48 year old woman and I’m just about to change my break bulb on my 2015 Toyota and I decided to look on KZread for any self-help videos! Yours was a goldmine for me! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Watching YOUR video enabled me to change my bulb myself. (I am a 53-year old woman who’s never had to do anything like this before.) I watched other videos, but they did not show the detail in removing the light assembly. So I conceded defeat and decide this was not for me. I had just closed the hatch and was about to take it over to Toyota to get it done when I ran across your video. You made it so simple, even I could do it! Again, THANK YOU!

Thank you for the good advice. I got the job done in 15 mins. I had to use a small plastic pry bar shielded with some cloth the push the assembly forward because my weak thumbs didn’t cut it.

@@RealWorldGarage hilariously, i broke the left side tab from the housing as i pulled it off. But it now sits solid with the hook tab and the 2 10mm bolts. No problem with the right. The slow wiggle is key. Ha!

Those aren’t real mechanics, 🤦‍♂️, with limited exceptions,I’ve never just thrown my hands up and not fixed something. The only time I’ve just thrown my hands up is when it required a special tool I didn’t have.

If the bolts are out, the only thing left holding the light in is the plastic retaining pins. They may be getting a little, brittle since they’re 9yrs old.
