hello sir, i am from india , and ratnam sons have a lot of history here . they were the first indian built fountain pens . in fact, mohandas gandhiji used one of these too . as for the name S.S , its unfortunate similarity to the german S.S is noteworthy , but it just stands for super small . they name pens according to sizes . from S.S (supersmall ) to supreme ( for the largest pen they commercially make) . thanks , peace

I like the fact that you review all kinds of fountain pens. In fact there are not useless fountain pens IMO, every single one has its function and fun and a story behind it. I have to say though that after using a lot of fountain pens, I find that I'm usually using the larger ones. It's something I do without even thinking about it, it just seems that they work better with me. That said, this is a little fun pen, I have a Sheaffer School pen about that size, so why not?

I'd like this pen. It would sit nicely with my 100 year old Pony (Peter Pan?) pen.

That's one very cute pen! It'd be a good size for me, too--my hands are small enough so that I can use my TWSBI Mini or my Rosetta Napoleon unposted. If this comes in any other colors, I just might consider getting one of these for myself sometime. :)

You beat me to the comment. When I was a kid I used wonder what the SS stood for on the cars. The releif was palatable when the Super Sport explanation was heard.

The fast writing sample looks like "the quick brown fox pimps out the lazy dog". Which is how I'm going to write it from now on. After all, who isn't bored to death with the fox sentence?

Maybe he meant the 405th fountain pen video, in which case the chotki knotting videos don't count.

Stephen, That looks like a child's pen in your hand! As far the SS initials are concerned, it would be a stretch to associated it with the Nazis. Although I am sure that some Nazis used fountain pens as Germany has traditionally made some of the best fountain pens in the world. Also there are Chevrolet cars with the SS designation which stands for Super Sport. Which have nothing to do with performance car loving Nazis. :-)

Very very Interesting. I work as a nurse in an Austrian neurological rehabilitation clinic. My ward specializes on Multiples Sclerosis, a disease wich often comes with cognitive impairments as you might know. Check out: reha-muenster.at . So your PhDi s very interesting indeed. I am in fact more curious than ever about your PhD now.... Good luck Dr. Brown

Dear Lord Brown You scared the living daylights out of me I was googling (is that a correct verb?) and I just stumbled over the horrible news Of His Divine Fountain Pen Higness stopping fountain pen review(s) But it proved to be a sad Joke as in Neville Chamberlain waving a piece of paper stating "Peace in our Times". Just like that idiotic Austrian painter did not stop at the Polish border you will fortunately not stop your reviews. Is it true about your Phd? If so what's it about
