Ratna Pathak Shah on Relationships, Sex, Girl Child & Patriarchy | The Male Feminist

Ratna Pathak Shah talks about her relationship with Naseeruddin Shah and how she used to bully Supriya Pathak during childhood. She shares how her upbringing defied societal norms, thanks to her progressive parents, who never discriminated between Supriya and her and encouraged both sisters to learn to drive. She recalls her grandmother's reaction to the birth of two granddaughters.

I so relate to her views about songs like " Aap ki nazron ne samjha pyar ke kaabil mujhe". God so damn regressive. Why should I be considered kaabil by some damn male?? Or " Sajna hai mujhe sajna ke liye“ or " Charnon mei jo na jagah paoon ". I hate these patriarchal songs. When will men learn?????

Maybe because the first married someone of totally different ideology sort of man and the second daughter married a second hand husband , already married with children. As she said her mother and her husband had a Rocky relationship. So, parents are usually tensed for their children. She is the same woman who criticized karwa chauth, the brainwash is evident.

no i couldnt help it. i was helplessly in love with and dreaming about something like mills & boons all my life, and I always will. genre: soft romance. it wasn't too raunchy and had just the right amount of everything. god, I always hated saas bahu soap opera. they were so toxic. i was dying for something fresh all my life during teens and I just hated my mom being glued to those dumb, shitty k soaps. all I remember is my good old Doordarshan programs. I'm glad someone finally said it. patronizing is a red flag.
