I normally hate vans but these are pretty sick with the chunky tongue and padding

This shoe was originally launched in 1995 it was part of the Vans International Collection when Vans closed it's U.S. factories and moved them overseas. The Original Knu Skools were made with a combination of cup sole with eva mid sole called Off the Wall 2 and they were highly accepted by skaters and musicians. They were discountinued around 2001 with a revival and reintroduction in a limited edition of the original model in 2015 by Vans Japan. Then the vulcanized version of the Knu Skool, which is the one you present, hits the market and it's a total bomb! ❤

I love you bro this answered all my questions about the shoe in 60 secs, didn’t have to deal with 20+ mins of bs, straight to the point. Now I know I MIGHT cop but since my skating is getting more intense with gaps and ledges I might not.

You've got to fasten the straps on your helmet or else it won't protect your head in a fall. They're only good for one fall too and it's a lot more likely to use that up falling off your head onto the concrete

For the people talking about the laces, they lace it like this in the store, they did it for mine. The fat tongue won't let your foot come out of the shoe, you're safe.

I often use nike blazer mid 77 for skateboard that is much more comfortable than any other skateboard shoes

If you rate shoes in the future, I'd love to see you rate their durability. I realize it takes time to fully understand that aspect. Perhaps you could rate durability based on design and any damage noticed during a session. Design things like leather vs. suede, 2 stitch vs 3 stitch, toe cap or not, whatever you could come up with based on exp. That'd be real helpful for me personally man.

I'm 40 years old and I used to skate those exclusively when I was in high school becausethey were $20 a pair and that's all we could afford! But they were also super comfortable. I probably went through 7 or 8 pairs. Literally my mother somehow found out they were re-released and told me. I can't believe how much they cost.

i usually go with Jordan 4’s or Converse when skating

Knu skools are thin near the toe and the laces are more likely to break since they are so big, just get some Rowan Pros

Try to when when you pop to use your ankle in a flick kind of thing and lean forward a little bit which might help

Make sure your front foot is as square as possible with around 3/4 of it on there and being below bolts put your back foot half way to three quarters on tail pop scrap your front foot up whilst bringing your legs up thenwhilst leaning forward whole time

Less padding gives you more board feel and control. If you aren't skating big gaps or stairs they are certainly better. Even on big gaps and stairs you won't get the cushion bounce that throws your feet off the board on impact.

Can you do converses bc I wanna start skateboarding but I either wear crocks sandals or converse but mostly converse

A thin insole allows for better board control though as you can feel the board better with your feet. For me thin insole = 9/10

they just got the regular vans insole but I imagine they will release a pro version with the pop cush insole

These shoes are supposed to be a reissue of a budget model from 20 years ago. But since Vans is lazy, they didn't bother combining the upper with a lowland cc midsole.
