At first, I thought Emperor Nefarious would just be Dr. Nefarious but taller or something. Instead, Insomniac made Emperor Nefarious his own character with the stellar Robin Atkin Downes voicing him. Plus, he’s definitely a better villain than Dr. Nefarious.

yeah I actually really liked that they made 2 universes completely different, boy/girl lombox. boy/girl war robots. if only they made a boy/girl nefarious. but they went down the superior/inferior route which still worked.

The fact that Dr. Nefarious was concerned about some of the stuff Emperor Nefarious did shows how serious this is.

7:24 This is what every villain would be like if they succeed in ultimate domination and the like. Never considering what to do if they DO achieve it. 7:40 His stare there is just terrifying. You can tell he wouldn't hesitate in killing Dr. Nefarious if not for his "epiphany."

Gotta say...that version of Emperor Nefarious is way more scarier than his original counterpart

Yeah I thought emperor nefarious was the best new character design in rift apart. I loved his looks, voice and attitude. Very well made.

Something about Dr. Nefarious criticizing the emperor for his lack of artistry in his villainy kind of speaks to his character a bit. Kind of getting megamind vibes of “I really don’t care about winning, I just think being a villain is fun”.

Emperor Nefarious was such an astonishing villian. There was never a second where he failed to entertain me. Perfect design, incredible performance from his voice actor,and just how evil he was. He was completely fine with collapsing every dimension into nothingness, and i loved that we finally had an actually threatening and malicious villian for once. That's all it takes for him to be in my top 5 best villians in Ratchet And Clank. I really hope he will somehow come back.

I’m sorry, but the only thing missing from his defeat was him freaking out and tuning into _Lance and Janice._

Yeah, none of the iconic neffy gags were here. No "ANNHILIATE THEM!", no "LAWRENCE!" and no Lance and Janice malfunctions. Lameos

One thing that bugs me is that it feels like Insomniac gave Emperor Nefarious psychic powers for 2 cutscenes, then they forgot he had them the rest of the game.

He does use them in his battle by flinging giant boulders at Rivet, but he doesn't use his powers and just pick up Rivet and fling her over a cliff, even though he's more than capable of doing so. I'm guessing developers do this since it's not fun if the enemy is at their max potential, and is literally unbeatable

So this Emperor’s power is just like Vendra Prog’s psychic power to move the opportune and the stuff without using their hands, and then it means that Emperor Nefarious has been working on the Nether from the alternate dimension of the alien ghost for his new power? I mean that his power is purple but the same thing as the alien witch.

I thought that too! The heroes arrive at another dimension by Drs Nefarious and Doofenshmirtz using a device with “Dimension(-in)ator” in its name. In that dimension, Emperor Nefarious and 2nd dimension Doofenshmirtz are far more evil and successful, whereas Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Dr. Nefarious are bumbling and incompetent. And then 2nd dimension Doofenshmirtz/Emperor nefarious decides to invade the heroes’ prime dimension and betrays Dr. Doofenshmirtz/Dr. Nefarious in the process

If any of you don't know, Psytanium is a Psychic Crystal that crash landed on a meteorite thousands of years ago in The Psychonauts Universe. It amplifies a Psychics powers. but if a normal person or a unstable person uses it, it would drive them mad. I believe that these two games are connected in some way.

11:24 This is the exact moment Emperor Nefarious REALLY fucked up. Every time a villain targets Ratchet's home, that's the beginning of the end of their schemes.

Playing the Nefarious boss battles by muting the music and putting the RC3 Neffy boss theme makes these boss fights so much better

I do too!! unfortunately most games take 4-8years to make now so we're probably a while away from it.

The only thing that annoys me about the emperor's final boss fight is that, aside from the portal opening, I don't know if the other abilities that he shows are his own, or are they stuff that he can only do by wielding the dimensionator...

do you mean the flying and ground slam etc. if that's what you mean, i'm not 100% sure, but my guess is that they are his powers, because he is the supreme ruler of his world even without the dimensionator. Dr nefarious is inferior version, emperor is superior version so him having these extra powers makes sense to me.

He’s terrified of Kit because he knows how much damage she can do in giant form. Emperor Nefarious is a bully at heart, picking on those beneath him, so it makes sense he’d cower from someone who can physically stand up to him. That’s why Doctor Nefarious, who’s more familiar with dealing with physical threats, has to bail him out in that one scene.

Emperor Nefarious is like Toasterhead 2.0.

Why won't Sony make a ratchet and clank tv series like clank broke his arm the sick of rivet and all that I want to see assistant in the new adventure.

I'm just disappointed we didn't get any malfunctions from him. "Maybe he fixed them long ago" I don't care, that still would have been funny. instead of Lance and Janice, Emperor Nefarious would have had children's programming play about sharing and loving one another, in contrast to his character of conquering and destroying. that would have been great.

They will definitely make a new one, but unfortunately games take longer to make than before. Higher quality graphics, bigger levels and worlds. It takes years to make a game now, so it's probably a few more years before our next game.
