Umm... for me ratchet Voice is ok graphics and anything is better on ps2 (its only my opinion i think i just Love ps2 and ratchet and clank 2002 😍 cuz its my childhood );)

The music changes were unforgivable imo, like R&C always had such an iconic soundtrack and they turned it into generic video game music #104. And the interactions between Ratchet and Clank were so bland in the PS4 remake

In terms of graphics, gameplay, control, some interesting level ideas and the tweaks introduced in future games like the weapon upgrade system, I like the PS4 version more. However in terms of music, characterisation of Ratchet, Clank, Qwark and Drek, story, weapon roster and the overall heart and charm, I think the PS2 is better. In that sense, I think both versions have their strengths and weaknesses. If we had the graphics, gameplay, control of the PS4 game and the a lot more of the planets from the original game using updated features, the original story and characterisation, the original music remixed the and the original PS2 weapon roster using the upgrade feature from Going Commando and onwards, then we could have possibly seen the definitive version of the original Ratchet and Clank game on PlayStation 4.

The original metropolis theme is godlike

I had so much Nostalgia while playing it on ps4. Espcially when I beat it anr unlocked the museum. I was so happy since this is one of the games I loved playing the original . I like the ps4 Ratchet and Clank but it can't beat the original. Especially since they changed up the story a lot

The moment I realized on the second planet that I already have the underwater boost I wanted to get to the secret location below the bombed bridge. Boy was I disappointed like I never been in my life

The locations in 2016 had a lot of work put into the game. It's probably the best part about it. It's tbe writing and story that are soulless. I still prefer the vibe of the original, but 2016 doesn't look bad at all.

the only thing I liked from the new version was novalis XD metropolis was turned from a busy city to a city whiteout life at all , wen ther was ship's everywher ther is now nothing XD veldin is now more desert then ever , lots of novalis ships were removed too ( and some cave shrooms were removed taking some of the cave ambience whit them too ) i did like the 4th planet but they had to chenge the last part soo it gives you that water gun -.- and kmon , if metropolis is support to be like a city that never sleeps why remove the escalators ? they removed stuff that gave the planet a mianing . sorry insumniac but the first game had more love and thinking placed into it :/

The original version will always be the best! I played all the 3 PS2 games and I love(d) them so much - they are perfect as they are. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the reboot, but since I found the game for a very low price I have decided to at least try it. I just hope that the PS2 trilogy will be also available on the PS4, but I am not so sure about it :(

I honestly prefer the PS2 graphics. The lighting might be better on the PS4 but the original had the right colours, the right designs, the right materials etc. Basically, the original made a good use of its engine whereas the PS4 version didn't

i bought the PS4 only for the new RaC and with the knowledge i have now, i wouldnt do it again. I played the game 1 time and thats it. I never played it again. The original i played over 40 times.

Why should i play the new one. Its only shoting. Boring!!!!! You only take thhe weapon you need to level up, or whats strongest. In the original it was better balanced. You could find a special weapon for any enemy. Sandshark = Pyrozitor These bombs who follow you = Wallop Tank = Devostor (sry i only know the German names) On special places was the taunter really effective. And since RaC2 the enemys are most the same per Level/planet In the original There were much more different enemys. Its like all the Games after Galdiator. If you played it once, it dont make much fun to play it again.

The graphics are "better" at a glance or in a picture, but in terms of game play the original style with higher resolution is so much better.

@@eigorson He means that everything begins to look samey after a certain standard. The crash games are a good example as well. The old ones have a very distinguished atmosphere and style because of the limitations but the new crash reboot just looks like every other pixar movie...

Y'know, I don't really see what's everyone's deal with the reboot. I've played every game in the series and I can say that yes the original version is a great game that still holds up today, but I feel that the reboot was also pretty great and it could have lead to the series making a comeback... But no 'fans' that are so blinded by nostalgia hate anything that isn't exactly the same as the original *despite* it being a reboot. God I can only imagine the ass blasting that Square Enix is gonna get with the FFVII Remake. Because everyone says it looks good now but I remember everyone said the same about this.

It's quite amazing how good the PS2 version looks. Especially when you consider that it is literally running on a shoelace if you compare it to the PS4's hardware specifications.

as a ps2 fanboy i have to say the ps4 remake looks really well done and worth checking out for owners of a ps4 (judging from this video).

Racket and Clank game always had impressive graphics! For the ps2 era all the series were beautiful and so fun to play.. I ordered the ps4 version today. Let's hope it deserved it because the graphics comes second. Gameplay is the most important for a game!

i've figured out why i prefer the original, it's the colours. They seem to add a lot to the charm of the maps

The original is SO GOOD and brings back so much nostalgia! But i still lile the new one more :\

I only ever played the first R&C, and it was back when it was originally released. So, my memory of it is definitely fuzzy, plus my memories of Jak 2 have sort of bled into them for some reason. But so far, having only really completed the levels shown here since acquiring it via Sony's Stay-at-home initiative, I've enjoyed it. It's felt true to my memory so far, though I have noticed some differences like the training course in Kerwan, or how individuals Ratchet runs into seem less "scummy". But I feel like that latter part may be due to that Jak 2 bleeding I previously mentioned. I am interested if this persists once I delve more into the game, as I'm sure my memory of the later game is definitely fuzzier. Plus, there's apparently a bunch of changes that were made for the remake. Honestly am not sure if I'll even notice them or not.

The olds still better. Only thing that shoulda changed is the graphics.

I feel like if the just took the graphics and gameplay of the remake, and combined it with everything else from the original, this would have been a masterpiece of a remake. The remake is a good game, but it wasn't faithful to the original.

I've played both games multiple times. The only thing I can say I like better about the remake are the GRAPHICS. I also can't stand people who complain about trivial things like straying, because it takes away the charm of being versatile with your movements including wrench attacks which was greatly underused in the remake.

Having just played the PS3 remaster of the original (HD and widescreen, otherwise just a port), I found that after a little while I got used to the old gameplay and ended up having a blast, playing it to completion. Yes, there are clear improvements with the PS4 due to the hardware, the original really holds up, and there just feels to be more game to play, even though it's not actually that much longer.

The reboot is better in every way, people just love bitching because it’s free.

Yeah, you can tell the ps4 game is a bit rushed, when some of the levels are NOT movie accurate at all. Like veldin for example. It's like they took into the nexus's gameplay (but removing hoverboots and grav tether), placed in levels from the first game and only have 2 MOVIE ACCURATE levels. (quartu and deplanetizer... even tho veldin should be movie accurate too. Or kerwan.)

Original is BETTER!!! MUCH, MUCH BETTER!!! I still play the black box PS2 version....I don't have a PS4...I was SO DISAPPOINTED by the PS3 R&C games that I reverted to PS2....the music was a big part of that decision....R&C went "orchestral" and that just RUINED the vibe!! I can see that the PS4 reboots utilized a more sophisticated sound design layer and more dimension to the music...and that is cool....

All they really needed to do was to update the graphics

Lol, they got literally everything wrong in the Remake. All the animations just look wrong as well,animator on the new project has no a terrible sense of snappy movement.

Don't blame Insomniac for how the game turned out. Blame that shitty movie and the 10 month time limit they had to make the game

The new era of Ratchet and Clank was the biggest disappointment to my adult life. Dialogues, character developments, humour, animations and movements were all made arcade-like. The only thing I enjoyed was seeing the visuals remastered and being able to revisit where everything started. Let's see how Crash Bandicoot 4 turns out
