I have memories being 13 years old and discovering this level at 3am on a Friday night. Good memories!
The Museum theme is honestly nostalgic in a way I thought I wouldn't experience again for a long time, but here we are.

8:00 The original Revolverator. Insomniac are legends for putting this in Rift Apart 2 decades later
the water around 6:54 looks incredible for something made in the PS2 era (assuming mass media didn't change _ALL_ the liquid textures). but yeah i can see why something that looks like it belongs on a PS3 game would tax the PS2s hardware

Commander Putin really? I'm surprised. The PS3 looked more than capable of handling something like that.

***** I hardly have a fetish for it, I just see it as something that'd be taxing for a console to handle which is why I think it's impressive that the PS2 could handle it, even if it was just a single tile. And your tap doesn't have to process what the water is meant to look like before it appears, it just lets it flow through, it's down to the laws of science to decide what the water will look like, how it will be made, and where it will have to go in the universe to reach your tap, the role of any games console when you really think about it is to emulate a controllable universe designed by a person or multiple people, but the way the universe turns out is down to what limitations there are in the consoles hardware as well as who is creating said universe. In the grand scheme of things all you've really told me is that science and the way it governs the universe is more powerful than a PS2, to which I say: No shit Sherlock

***** your common sense reply was based on the idea of me buying a PS2 game just to get water, something which really wasn't implied anywhere in my comment. Oh and sorry for the "essay" I wasn't aware that reading wasn't your strong point otherwise I might've simplified things for you. And there was nothing inane about my comment, all I was doing was telling you some basic facts in an attempt to answer your question.

***** and what's your role in all of this? Other than showing off your high horse and shooting me down for the heinous act of being impressed by what a group of game developers can do with a PS2
This Insomniac museum was so cleverly hidden i love it.
I remember I'd spend *hours* in this level specifically. Loved every single moment of it, I don't remember it being that hard to get into the museum though.

There was a teleporter somewhere in the level that you could use to get into the church looking building instead of falling off the rail, but you could only use it at... 2am? On the dot. I'm pretty sure there was anyway, I might be thinking of R&C3
@SayaAensland

@@bebsimags3912 It was 3 AM. You could cheese it by manually changing the internal clock on the PS2. It also became accessible from the Shortcuts menu once you've collected all platinum bolts and bought all the weapon mods.

It's a shame that developers aren't able to include certain features like those teleporters in their games due to time constraints. I know delays seem bad but in the end you get a better game
I think that's still one of the coolest secrets in any game

Yes the crazy erie feeling just being in this damn museum
The coolest easter egg out of all the games I've played in my life
It's funny how shy Tony Garcia sounds here, and then in the Ratchet and Clank 3 Developer Commentary, he's much more confident and takes the piss out of Mike Stout constantly
I wish this was in the newer ratchet and clanks, I remember finding this somehow and it blew my mind, one of the best series ever.
When you log out while in the Museum and go back to the save, you will now be on Planet “Dantopia”

Weird how much Tony Garcia and Mike Stout's voices changed. Been watching their LP/commentary on the games.
I spent a few hours as a kid playing with the beam tool at 8:12
I remember i discovered this organically as a kid after beating it over 10 times and being absolutely dumbfounded that I came across this weird ass easter egg
21:05 This is so cool 😎
Trip down memory lane. The music almost made me cry of joy.

I live near Burbank and I had no clue they were actually referencing the city when I saw the planet name
Amazing! i had no idea you could reach the Insomniac Museum like that!
you can tell from the start that the area you glide down to is an unfinished part of the level that was originally going to be in the game. it's like in midnight mountain on spyro 3 when they left that distant platform in the game (damn trolls, i spent forever as a kid trying to figure out why i couldn't get up there just to find out now that you need a modded memory card) turns out that platform was originally going to lead to another level but they decided to just leave some extra lifes there instead
The time required to enter this normally, such a wonderful play on the name of the studio.
Haha this place was amazing. You can use the wrench glitch to scale the building outside all the way to top, then glide down to outer roof of the museum where there is a silhouette of a mallet. You can also use the flying camera weapon (forget the name) to see that you ship is actually parked somewhere in the distance.
4:54 KRYTEN!
Child me found this by accident, exact same way this video shows. Never been more confused and amazed by a game 😢
Its 2019 now and still one of the best ❤

I still feel sorry for the Block Man all these years later. He doesn't seem evil to me.
Makes me wonder what else didn't get into the first game.
I remember when I was 12 years old when I found out this hidden location all by myself without having to look up online, my curiosity mind wanted to explore locations I didn't have access to on all ratchet and clank 2 levels
the muuuuuuuuuuuuuusic
I think there are three ways to get their
Spottin you definitely need more views!
also guys the thing this guy didn't catch onto at the time is that when you glitch through the floor you can reset the camera just by holding down L1 to go into 1st person and then letting go
Just in case anyone's wondering or curious, I beat the game on PS3, and time warped to right before the final boss in challenge mode 1. I tried getting into the museum by setting my PS3's clock to 3 am after taking it offline and yeah it still works! I got in no problem at all! 😁😁 What a cool thing to finally experience myself first hand
The original Ratchet (with original animation and voice acting) is so much better than the new remakes and new games. I grew up to the soundtrack of the first 4 games, then I saw him when they reanimated him and gave him a new voice actor, I couldn't bring myself to buy or even watch gameplay of the new games :/ LOVE this video though :) Thank you!!

This series is legendary but its quite a shame how rushed all of the games were, especially the future saga it wouldve been so much of a better product if they werent crunching every game, alas it seems like just another part of adulthood to accept just how imperfect the world is and get over the shouldve couldve wouldves in life, thats the real lesson from this series, mistakes are always going to be made but dwelling on the past is never going to be time well spent. Thanks for the memories Insomniac
Can someone PLEASE tell me why they made a trophy for this, but reaching it is by exploiting the game. Is there a legit way to get there or is insomniac just that cool?
@tuyhhf
10 жыл бұрын
There's several ways, really. Two more legit ways would be by waiting until 3:00-3:59 AM then going to the teleporter on top of the dry fountain here in Boldan, or by getting all the weapons, their upgrades, and all the weapon mods (in which case you can access the Museum through the Shortcuts menu in Special). Then there's the way described in the video, which is probably the easiest on-demand way to get there without having to wait until a specific time or start hoarding bolts and platinum bolts.

Real. Only ever goin commando
17:51 You can actually get all the way to the 70 degree ramp if you use the Thruster pack. That time where you were crouching on the wall and sliding off, you could've done another High Jump with the Thruster Pack, and you could repeat that to get up the 55 degree ramp. But you'd have to repeat it really quickly.
