You're one of the few that has paused mid-vid just to acknowledge the very high quality of his guitar playing , the feel and technical skills altogether (which is on point). Giardino is one of my heroes (from all guitar players in the world) and in Argentina he's just number 1 no questions about it. By the way, Solo para Amarte gets into my top 10 Rata Blanca songs easily (AND the solo too).

9:35 "They could have been a BIG band in the U.S.". This is exactly what Giardino (the guitar player) thinks and he's vocal about it on a lot of his interviews. He (and they as a band) had to struggle against local journalism, the press in general and the 'scene' to get the recognition they truly deserve. I personally think they've accomplished that pretty much from the start but yeah this could easily be one of the best international bands in the world today if they had been born in the U.S, or anywhere in Europe. Props for an excellent review and reaction, Frank ! Awesome stuff.

Hi Frank! Good ear, when you found similarities between Walter and Blackmore. Walter Giardino recognises Richie as his biggest influence, along with 70's great bands such as Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. When I was a sweet little girl (long time ago), in the 80's, my two older brothers listened this kind of music, I think I "accidentally" scratched some of their vinyl ... Anyway ... This group reminds me of Baron Rojo or Obús, two great groups of spanish heavy metal, music that I learned to appreciate almost by force, but now I am grateful... "Hey what's going on everybody... Frank, there's this south korean pop rock band called Day6. You may want to check out on their music, they're great. I personally like their song called "Shoot me", they also just released a new album with song called "You make me", definitely worth to listen to!

Pensar que acá en Argentina se lo critica tanto a Walter Giardino, muchos dicen que es una burda imitación de Malmsteen...sin embargo yo siempre lo sentí mas orgánico, mucho mas sentido y muchísimo mas agradable que YM , aun usando los mismos recursos y escalas, al momento de expresarse con el instrumento a mi me llega, y me da una gran satisfacción ver que a Frank le sucede lo mismo...

Coincido totalmente, la verdad que no puedo escuchar 3 temas seguidos de Malmsteen, sinceramente me aburre, no digo que no sea talentoso, pero Giardino es diferente, si escuchas "CUANDO LA LUZ OSCURECE" en el dvd de poder vivio, es increible lo que transmite, me pasa lo mismo con Temple, puedo escuchar ese disco 10 veces seguidas y no me aburre.

el que critica a walter no sabe nada de musica. y en mi humilde opinion walter la mezcla justa de malmsteens por su velocidad y presicion. y blackmore por lo armonico y melodico que es. por eso para mi walter es lo guitarristas mas completos del mundo!

Ignorantes repiten eso, cuando Malmsteen y Giardino se inspiran en Ritchie Blackmore, en Vivaldi, Bach, Paganini. En todos casos los dos le afanan a estos.
